Cavalli-Kan Kumisa III help? CK2III

Ok i got another question. For c3,c4, c12, and c13. I have 4 nichicon muse 16v 1000uf BYPOLAR. I can use these if i bend them over at a 90 to the board, over the transistors (they are big). Would this be a better sounding idea then ordering Nichicon HE (Mouser 647-UHE1C102MPD) ( to match C37, C38 which are also HE)?

I would suggest you stick with caps that fit the board.

Add? I used the KW series in my starving student, Would they be be better then the powersupply caps that amb recommends? 647-UKW1C102MPD, 647-UKW1E102MPD looks to be one step up from what you showed me. I dont under stand why amd is recommending non audio caps and treating it like a power supply.

My CK2III build is coming along nicely,at least until I try it

Now the question: I want to use the 2SC3422/2SA1359 combination of output transistors, since they are reported to sound good with Grados. I already have these parts at home, but I do not know which part goes where. Any suggestion?

Have fun with your amp.

I hope you meant 2SC3422.

I only have the transformer connections left, and are rather confused where each wire should go. I've "made" a picture to make it easier.

I guess that:
1 goes to 0.
2 goes to 230V.

but what about v, x, y, z? (they should go to A, B, C, D but in which order?).

Yes, you're correct on the transformer primary side for 230V AC mains. Remember to connect the GRY and VIO wires together.

On the secondary side, x and y goes to A and B, z and v goes to C and D, respectively. You could alternatively connect x and y to C and D, z and v to A and B. They both work.

for the heatsink,

i wouldn't put the c2KIII in an complete isolated case.

i have put it in a big metal case (23*23*8cm)and with heatsinks, but they run warm (30-40ma)

next build will be with a big alu heatsink (a alu plate).

you can put it in a small enclosure, if you can attach it straight to the case and use that as heatsink.

just letting you know that heat can become an issue. shorting the life of all parts in it.
