Yamaha HP3
Basically just realized that the headphones I've been using (hand me downs) are a set of Yamaha HP-3's from the 70's/80's! Anyone know what people are doing with them these days (mods/refurbs/vintage collecting)? They are in great condition and I love using them!- KonaBear

Orthodynamic Roundup
In the fall of 2004 I declared my commitment to study the development, if any, of Yamaha's old line of Orthodynamic headphones, which used a driver type known generically as isodynamic, small-O orthodynamic, planar-magnetic, or magnetostatic. Why? 1) they'd been virtually extinct for 20 years...- wualta

Questions from my wallet...
Hey guys - I've lurked around these parts for a few years but started to follow things in earnest this spring. Since then, I've picked up a pair of Yamaha HP-3's, a pair of AKG Sextetts, and just last week a pair of Koss ESP9's with E9 energizer - all paired with my recently rehabbed HK 730...- spinlps

Just ordered some Yamaha HP2 headphones
These are from the early 80s , apparently won awards and were much liked at the time. My reason for ordering them is their Planar drivers as I have some interest in this transducer technology. Anybody here heard them? I will post comments when I receive them. Setmenu- setmenu

Yamaha HP-3
The Yamaha HP-3 was Yamaha's bottom of the line orthodynamic headphone in their original 1970s HP-x line up. The low-frequency response of HP-3/HP-50 headphones varies significantly from unit to unit and this is not yet attributable to any specific model variations. That is, the differences...- jacksonchansf
