+1 I have two sets of custom, shorty cables he made for me, and that is all I use now :)

Yes. For me, the triple flange tips are definitely good enough at blocking out most inflight noise. I can sit on the very last row of the plane (where usually the engine noise is loudest) and enjoy music and/or a movie in peace

For me, if price is not an issue, the smoother sound (with decent lows) is the 4XR hands down. But at its lower price point, I felt the 2XR had a better lower-end (for me) than the 2SE.

To me, the fact that they get the earwax "in" them is what I like since they are softer, more comfortable, and seal effortlessly. So I don't mind the "dirty" color at all, but I totally understand and respect your concern about their appearance.

Very similar to what I heard when I compared them back to back (and against the 4XR). I am really enjoying the 2XR :)

OK, my er2xr arrived today. Now I "finally" have all of them to compare. Hands down, to me, the ER4XR are the best. Overall the best balance of highs and lows, on all of the songs I like. The ER2SE are really good, but lack a little of the low-end impact of the ER4XR. I can see how these...

I just ordered the ER2XR on Amazon. According to them it will be here in 1-2 days. I will try that against the ER2SR and the ER4XR shortly and relate my own views/comparison.

As an electrical engineer, I can tell you that a cable is not a pure resistor. It "always" has some amount of inductance, and there is always some amount of capacitance as well. The whole purpose of a cable to is to transmit power (Voltage x Current) from one point to the next. Given the...

toranku: Based on my own amateur eval so far, I feel your review/comparison is very similar to what I hear. Thanks for the review! I have been listening to them every day, but using the "already" soft tri-flanges from the ER4XR, and they sound a little better, tighter than on day one wit the...

To me, based on this first impression, after a couple of hours, yes. But I will try them out for a while longer before giving up on them. I am also going to try the tri-flanges from the ER4 in the ER2 since those are already broken-in and really nice and soft. Perhaps that will help with the...

That is a custom, shortly cable that forum member ClieOS made for me. He does great work! Sound-wise, no difference I can hear. But I wasn't expecting any difference to be honest, as I have never been able to tell "any" difference when changing cables over the last 10-15 years. Not once.

Yup, driving them with the FiiO BTR3. I will keep trying them on for a little while longer, but will likely not keep them and try to buy the XR version instead.

Package arrived a early :-) First impressions: Don't like them. I based my purchase on the ER2SE on the early reviews on Massdrop and frequency response graph that showed the ER2SE having a strong low-end, so I figured the ER2XR would have been "too much", but based on this few initial hours...

Like probably many in this thread, I have tried many IEMs over the last 10 years, including custom (hard shell) 3-way IEMs, Triple 10's, Klipsch 10 and 11's, and more recently the lower-cost Kz ZS6 and AS10. I thought some of these prior IEM's sounded good/OK, but when I finally decided to try...

Since you are considering a small portable amp for these, if I might, why not get the BTR3 which is a DAC/Amp which supports the new BT codecs? https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-BTR3-Bluetooth-Receiver-Portable/dp/B07FVN14FH That is what I have and what I use with my Samsung cell, and it works really...

What is the expected sound differences between the ER4XR and these new ER2 variants? Big price difference between the 2 and 4 series ;)

I just received a new ER4XR set, and I really like them! I just wanted to give a high-five to member ClieOS since he made for me some custom goodies now on their way to me here in the USA. A shorty custom cable to use with my FiiO BTR3 and adapters so that I can use other more standard cables...

    Another AMB M3 completed!

I don't know/remember why, but I started building my M3 back in 2007, and I literally shelved the project: all parts have been on a shelf on my garage since 2007.  Weird, I know.  I don't remember why. Getting old sucks! At any rate, I started a new job and a co-worked has a nice DAC +...
