Ultrasone Fan Club! (Roll Call)
Hey guys, Where is the best place to order Ultrasone HFI 2400? Amazon ships it immediately, $300.00, but it's only fulfilled by Amazon, and sold by Pavillion Electronics. http://www.amazon.com/ULTRASONE-HFI-2400-Professional-Open-Back-Headphones/dp/B002W37ESY DJDeals.com...- robby

Quote: I read that the DT880 is more analytical and bright than the DT990, so that is why I mentioned DT990. You don't agree that the DT990 is a better choice for someone with my preferences?- robby

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
I need recommendations for a good full-size headphone, ~$300. I really enjoy a strong mid-bass (125 - 250 hz). I am very sensitive to and fatigued by a sharp high-end or loud super-deep bass. I tend to like rolled off highs. Sennheiser PX-100 are pretty much my favorite headphone of...- robby

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
No, I definitely tried unplugging and plugging, and also switching, the cables. I was definitely quite rough with the PX100s (actually I would probably still continue to buy them if they were available, no other portable headphone will ever compare) but I treated the HD650 like a queen. ...- robby

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
This may not be the appropriate place, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend an alternative to the HD650. The left speaker on mine went dead 2 weeks after the 2 year warranty expired. After going through 4 pairs of PX100s that broke, and now this, I've decided to not buy Sennheiser...- robby

Help me convince my friend not to buy Beats by Dr. Dre!
They're manufactured by the same company that makes Monster Cables ... it's pretty clear they're a cynical branding exercise made by a company that doesn't care about audio, just about bilking money from impressionable young kids who see "Dr. Dre" and decide it must be a good product.- robby

Need Advice For Buget Headphones ~$30-60
I recommend the Sennheiser PX100, though I am admittedly a pretty huge fanboy for these phones. They're pretty much universally admired though, except for people who like bright, strong highs and dislike the rolled-off PX100 highs. I like it that way though, because it makes them extremely...- robby

closed circumaural Headphones unamped for Ipod Touch
As far as the MDR-V6 goes - it is a fairly bright, very neutral headphone. It will reproduce sound accurately and has great detail and good isolation but, imo, it is not very fun to listen to.- robby

closed circumaural Headphones unamped for Ipod Touch
I am not sure getting something closed and circumaural is a great idea. They will be bulky, they will not offer better sound quality, and you will look fairly eccentric walking around with large phones on your head. I understand you probably want to block out sound, but I just don't think they...- robby

Sennheiser PX-100 equivalent?
I've had the same problem. My first set lasted ~2.5 years. My second set lasted 6 months. I've already made a thread about this, but I think the new-style PX-100 plug is even more fragile than the old one.- robby

HD 238/HD 228 vs PX 100
You still haven't chose one, applaudio? Man up, make a decicision! Also I personally don't equate less exciting with "laid back". A prominent low end adds another dimension to pretty much any song.- robby

Sennheiser HD238 vs. Yuin PK3
I don't think the HD238 are a very good portable phone because they don't fold up. Also I think they are slightly too big to walk around in - you might get one or two strange looks. The PX100 are also ~$40 cheaper than the HD238. That's somewhat significant.- robby

HD555, HD238, PX100 or K430?
PX100 are going to be the least fatiguing, I think. I've never listened to the K430. I think the HD 555 is very bright and not much fun to listen to.- robby

Mid-bass is around ~100 - ~200 khz - it makes drums to have much more force and punch.- robby

Newbie: Sennheiser?
The HD555 is way too bright for what you listen to. Get the PX100 ($40) or HD238 ($70) or HD650 ($350) and don't waste time with the in-between models.- robby
