Hey Jude, (Ha! 'Hey Jude' .....) Out of that list of amps you've tried with the 600s, which would you consider the best, or just your favorite, regardless of price?

Since nobody else mentioned it: I have the Headroom Max, one of a few of the Headroom amps that come with their 'filter' switch. Without this switch, I would hate Headroom crossfeed - with the 'filter', I can't live without it!

I have what I would consider a respectable speaker setup, but my HD600/Headroom (old)Max really blow it out of the water as far as detail and clarity are concerned. For soundstage, bass impact, and sheer volume, the speakers win.

Actually, Neruda, I have the Laserdisc version of 2001, but I'm sure it works the same with DVD or VHS.

I would most certainly NOT cover the backs of my HD600s! Doing so could damage the drivers!! These drivers were built to be used in an open enclosure, creating a sealed enclosure is not a good idea, IMHO.
