Oh yeah, Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels was great! I haven't seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon yet, I'm WAY behind on my movies. Been real busy at work lately and just can't find the time, but I'll get to it eventually. A few more of my recent faves, in no particular order: Magnolia...

A great movie I just saw recently, and got some great treatment on the new DVD, is Romper Stomper. One of Russel Crowes earliest movies, and one of his best, IMHO. If you like American History X, you should like this as well. You could call it Australian History X. In the same vain, is my...

    Hi everybody!

Quote: (and the 580s look a lot cooler, too! ) I've seen this comment here before and I simply must disagree: I own both the 580s and the 600s, and personally I really like the looks of the 600s way better than the 580s. They look soooo cool sitting on top of my Max all black...

    Good "ole summertime

I live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, and the first week of every August we have a 'little' gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts (bikers) called the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally & Races ('The Rally' to us locals). The wife and I are taking vacation for 13 days this year and I can...

    Am I sick??

It's the "Goosebump Factor"! I just can't get the goosebumps unless it's LOUD AS H*LL! But, on the other hand, there are plenty of songs that can give me goosebumps at much lower volumes......

Appropriate amp for 225/325 and 580/600 level of headphones

Yup, I went straight to the Max, albeit at the low, low clearance price. Lookin' forward to your reveiw.

    Am I sick??

Why do I feel I must listen to hard rock/metal music at almost ear splitting levels to get the most satisfaction from it?? It just seems I keep pushing up that volume even though I know it's very, very bad for my ears....... There's got to be an explanation for why louder sounds better...

Appropriate amp for 225/325 and 580/600 level of headphones

Jude, Glad to hear that my Max is no slouch with the 600s. But it is the only headphone amp I have ever heard and all the talk of different amps on the board here, I thought I might be missng out. Is there any tube based headphone amp that can compete with the Max in its price range?

What kind of headphone amp do you have?

    Headroom (Old) Max.

    Headphones vs. 2.1 Speakers

Apparently different than most others here, I've had a mid/high end speaker setup for many years and only recently discovered the wonderful world of headphones. I started checking into headphones because of the WAF: I like to listen to music and watch movies late at night after I get off work (I...

Appropriate amp for 225/325 and 580/600 level of headphones

Hey Jude, (Ha! 'Hey Jude' .....) Out of that list of amps you've tried with the 600s, which would you consider the best, or just your favorite, regardless of price?

    Cross-feed: Yes or No?

Since nobody else mentioned it: I have the Headroom Max, one of a few of the Headroom amps that come with their 'filter' switch. Without this switch, I would hate Headroom crossfeed - with the 'filter', I can't live without it!

Hey, what type of listener do you describe yourself as?

I have what I would consider a respectable speaker setup, but my HD600/Headroom (old)Max really blow it out of the water as far as detail and clarity are concerned. For soundstage, bass impact, and sheer volume, the speakers win.

Just got Pink Floyd's "Momentary Lapse in Reason"

Actually, Neruda, I have the Laserdisc version of 2001, but I'm sure it works the same with DVD or VHS.

    Calling all dinosaurs

Okay, a few 'must-haves': Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - Beatles Led Zeppelin IV (aka Runes) The Wall - Pink Floyd (Okay, not '60s or '70s but still a must) Disraeli Gears - Cream Aqualung - Jethro Tull L.A. Woman - The Doors I could go on all day, I guess.

Turn your HD600's into "closed phones"-- it helps!

I would most certainly NOT cover the backs of my HD600s! Doing so could damage the drivers!! These drivers were built to be used in an open enclosure, creating a sealed enclosure is not a good idea, IMHO.

Just got Pink Floyd's "Momentary Lapse in Reason"

Since a couple of you mentioned Meddle - If anyone has a copy of Meddle and a copy of 2001:A Space Odyssey, try this cool trick: There is a chapter of 2001 near the end (maybe the last chapter, can't remember) that's called 'Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite'. Start this chapter and...
