Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
The HD700 has found it's way to being my 'gaming' headphone. It's wonderful for that aspect. Personally the peak is just too much for me in the end. This is even with a warm tube like Mullard in my LD MKIII (I know; not the best amp in the world). However that peak happens to be a great one...- pez

Hifiman Edition X
Hey Guys, Picked up a set of these, but noticed I'm getting some channel issues. I got them 'used - open box' from Amazon, but I'm starting to think they may have been dropped. Going to drop a couple pics below this in hopes it will make more sense. Long story short, cable inserts all the...- pez

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6HM5-EC900-EI-Yugoslavia-Platinum-matched-pair-Little-Dot-Amp-FREE-SHIPPING-/251691711374 Presuming these? Are there preferred sellers you guys recommend for tubes? Would it be recommended to just keep these and leave the other tubes alone for the time being? (like I...- pez

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
I know the HD650 Chinese knockoff pads are really bad and noticeably thinner. I'd be curious to probably invest in a pair or two of the knockoffs for the HD700, but I'd be really weary due to how much pads can effect headphones like the HD700 or HD650.- pez

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Appreciate all the input guys! It's been a while since I've been any type of active on here, so it's a nice welcome back :). Also, prepare for some noob questions considering I'm completely new to tube amps :D. Cool, I'll check Mullard and Amperex out. I'm familiar with the names for sure...- pez

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
So anyone here running the HD700 out of a LD MKIII? I've recently acquired the combo and looking for potential tube recommendations. I've got fairly minimal hours on both the amp and the headphones, but I have to say I find the LD a better match for these than the Asgard 2 that I also have...- pez

The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread
They're the one headphones I'm not so critical on sound on, thought he HyperX seem to be tilted a bit more towards the bassy side of things. I'll check out the 2050 pads and the HM5 velour. Thanks for the input, guys.- pez

The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread
I've searched a bit, but feel I'm overlooking it at this point. Are Takstar Pro 80 earpads interchangeable with the HyperX Cloud line? I cheaped out a while back and got the Cloud Core for PS4/XB1 gaming and am searching for a suitable velour pad for them (it's starting to get hot). I've found...- pez

Yeah, I don't think you'd be one bit of disappointed with a Modi/Magni or Modi/Vali combo along with the HD650. I plan on letting the Asgard 2 and HD650 combo spoil me for quite a bit longer :).- pez

I'd have to take a look in my bag, but I thought they did. I might be thinking of my old SF3s. However, UE did make some that are very similar to how your single flange ones are.- pez

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Just to add to what's already been said; the HD650 extends deeper and has more impact than even the HD600. I've heard the HD598, but not the 558. The 598 has nothing on the bass of the HD650.- pez

Not sure what kinda music you guys listen to, but I've got a special place in my heart for a band called Bad Veins (indie rock). Got my hands on a FLAC version of their album 'The Mess We've Made', and it's sounding wonderful on my setup.- pez

NEW - Schiit Asgard 2
Yeah. I might as well chalk it up to some of the music I listen to as well. We all know some older rock, and even newer 'hardcore' music is fairly under-produced. And I'm not taking a shot at you. I hope I wasn't coming off that way .- pez

NEW - Schiit Asgard 2
Yeah, like I said, source/DAC plays a pretty big role. The Modi is rather bright, however, without it, it's fine. I didn't find the DACMagic 100 or Modi pairing with the Asgard 2 to be harsh at all, but it's just a forewarning that it 'can' be bright. Synergy can be everything in the...- pez
