6SN7 Tube Addicts
I have the same tube. Mine hums in my Darkvoice336i only when paired with particular power tubes. I have a short bottle one that hums with the opposite power tubes. I'm not sure if this is a documented phenomenon or just a weird coincidence. Tall bottle hums with RCA and Svetlana 6AS7Gs...- Demonmnky

Best 9V battery for portable amps
I would assume a NiMH charger is a NiMH charger and the batteries are built to be charged by them. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I have some buying and trying to do!- Demonmnky

Best 9V battery for portable amps
Simple question. What is the best recharageable battery for a portable headphone amp? I find that lithium 9V batteries give the best power for my Headsix. Followed by normal brand-name alkaline; Followed by generic 9V alkaline; Followed by my rechargeable 9V. Are there Higher Quality...- Demonmnky

Portable Closed Phones <$200
I guess I should've asked this in the original post. Has anyone tried out the AKG DJ181? Any headphone with a Bassboost switch rouses suspicion in my mind.- Demonmnky

I need a good closed headphone for bus commuting. I'm basically considering the usual suspects in this category: AKG DJ181 Senn. HD-25-1 Beyer DT770 Denon 1001 AudioTechnica ES7 My rig is a 5.5g iPod with a Meier Headsix. So, pleanty of power for any of these phones. I currently own...- Demonmnky

Silly Poll: Greater Artist - The Beatles or Bob Dylan?
Quote: As to the poll..... Dylan is the greater artist; though Lennon's life was cut very short, so it isn't fair to say that unequivocally. Just for fun, listen to Lennon's "Dear Yoko" and tell me who is the greater artist. -

The official record-cleaning fetish thread!
I have a question for the hand washers in the crowd: What kind of towel would be best for cleaning records? I find that old bath towels leave lint behind that I have to brush off again. It seems like a never ending struggle keeping stuff off of my vinyl! Though, I realize I have to get some...- Demonmnky

Basic Question on Jitter on PC audio
I prefer it because it is what I can get. Of course if I had deeper pockets I'd be getting the shiney toys! I don't understand the pursuit of fixing something that is not worth fixing, I guess. These things irritate me to no end. I'll leave this thread now. Sorry to gum it up.- Demonmnky

Basic Question on Jitter on PC audio
Quote: It is obvious that you never heard any jitter reduction methods in action. If you would, you would know whether or not it prevents musical enjoyment, and instead just causes paranoia. Did I stumble upon Audio Asylum by mistake? Sure seems like it. Jocko Its like a bunch...- Demonmnky
