The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
I briefly tried the DT880 600 ohms and I absolutely loved their sound. Extremely quick, limitless but not overtly sharp treble, punchy bass without bleeding into vocals, etc. However, my head is huge and on the maximum settings, they just didn't fit my head. On one side, the earcup would just...- Garraty

hd25-1 impressions thread
Excuse me, could someone please explain the difference between the current models right now on Sennheiser's website? They list the HD25, HD25 Plus and the HD 25 I II Basic Edition. I realize the HD25 Plus is just the HD25 with more accessories but what are the physical and sonic differences...- Garraty

The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread
http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/hah/spare-parts/edt-1350-sl.html Alternatively, you could purchase the beyer T51p pads instead, which are said to be comfier and have more bass than the regulars according to this "mod" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO_9qwA1sb0). The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread
Hmm, I contacted beyerdynamic customer support, and they said the opposite. They said the CC's had a coiled cable and larger earpads and a better headband than the regular DT 1350's. In that case, I'll just get the CC's.- Garraty

Ah, thank you very much. I assumed that based on online searches the facelift/CC version were the same thing. That explains a lot.- Garraty

The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread
For all you more recent owners, I have a question. I was searching through this thread and online to make sure the only difference between the DT 1350's and the DT 1350 CC's was the headband, earpads and cable (essentially, no difference in sound). However, I came across search results and such...- Garraty

The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread
Thanks for answering my questions. I think I'm going to definitely get the DT1350 CC's if it sounds the same as the regular 1350's. I really appreciate your advice since I was initially unsure about some possible issues with the 1350's. Thanks again! :)- Garraty

Really? I heard the DT1350's were kinda uncomfortable. In any case, do you consider these the best neutral studio headphones for $200-400 in terms of sound? Or do you prefer another over ear or on ear option?- Garraty

That's great to hear! In the studio, is it preferable to use over ear or on ear headphones while recording? I know over ear headphones generally sound better but I know the Sony 7506's (I consider them on ear since many people say they don't completely cover their ears) are used frequently.- Garraty

How are these for studio use, particularly tracking and recording? I'm a bedroom artist looking for a pair of neutral tracking headphones in the $200-300 range and I recently bought a pair of HD 600's and a Schiit Magni 2 Uber to drive them for mixing and mastering. I'd prefer the headphones to...- Garraty

Best neutral recording headphone for $200-300
Hey all, I'm a bedroom artist looking for a pair of neutral tracking headphones in the $200-300 range, but I'm willing to go for a more expensive headphone if it's worth it. I'm not looking for a mixing headphone, since for mixing and mastering, I recently bought a pair of HD 600's and a...- Garraty

Looking to Purchase New headphones, Any Help Appreciated
I have the HD598 and they're pretty good (see my review) and they're a bit better than the Momentum I've tried. The Audio-Technica and the Shures, I'm not to sure about (see what I did there?). Good luck!- Garraty

Also, I want to clarify they're not really worth their MSRP at $250 (in America, you can find them at around $190 and even as low as $150) but for those with lower-quality sources and no amp or DAC, it's a great pair of headphones.- Garraty

I agree with some of the flaws you said here, but I still think the HD598s are a solid pair of cans (see my review). I find they are pretty airy (I still maintain they have a pretty good soundstage, at least better than the AKGs I tried) and the treble is well-done with just the right amount of...- Garraty

Soundmagic HP150/HP151 Impressions Thread
Hey guys, Just wondering since there seems to be conflicting reports: the HP150 are just another reiteration of the HP100 without the disco-ball like cups and a straight cable with the same sound signature, correct? Also, what is the sound signature of the HP150 like? There are also...- Garraty

Haven't heard these in a while as I just wanted to try them out (later selling them to get the Modi instead, not the fault of the RE-400's themselves) but from memory, instrumental separation was pretty good and smaller details that were obscured by my HD598 could be heard. They're not detail...- Garraty

Looking for a good neutral set of closed headphones for under $200
Very interesting! I had thought of buying the HM5 but with the money I have, I think I could buy a pair of cans that are slightly better. I'm definitely keeping the Fischer FA003-TI in mind though I'm not too sure on that since there is little information on it and it's a pain in the rear end...- Garraty

Looking for a good neutral set of closed headphones for under $200
Thanks for the recommendation! I thought of the HP150 but based on what I've read up on, they seem to have the same drivers as the HP100 but because of the different material (to adjust for damping) perhaps, they seem to sound more bassier and have a more V-shape sound signature. On the...- Garraty

Looking for a good neutral set of closed headphones for under $200
Hey all, Unfortunately, my headphone needs have shifted and I'm moving out from my single dorm into one with a roommate, so I'm selling off my HD 598's. With the money from selling the HD 598's and some spare cash, I should have enough to get a good pair of closed headphones for about $200...- Garraty
