For your tastes, I'd say the 702 is a better choice. I've owned both of those cans. Of the two, I liked the 702 better, even though the bass was light. The highs were just so... transparent & beautiful.

I'm still loving mine. They have maybe 20 hours in.

Mine sound fantastic. I have a hard time believing anyone would describe its sound as anything but fantastic, especially for the price. I paid $99 for mine, and would pay $200 for a new pair if mine broke and the prices shot up.  

Tapatalk would be fantastic. Please please consider it!! I love browsing headfi wherever I go, but even with my iPhone 4 retina display, it can make me squint and zoom too often.

They sound fantastic coming from an ipod/iphone. I love mine thru my 5.5g.

Home theater systems don't tend to be very good for music. Watch your movie with your 5.1 and music with your Grado's.  

I just removed the cloths from the front of the drivers, vented the drivers, and placed non-drying clay all over the chambers to help with resonant problems... on my SR-80--and i'm AMAZED. I'm listening to Radiohead's Kid-A right now... bass is amazingly more open, there's more soundstage...

I have a 5.5g Ipod (upgraded to 240 gb hard-drive), and I've owned the classic 6 gen (twice... long story) and I HATED the 6g. Terrible SQ compared to my 5.5g. My 5.5 still sounds amazing, even when compared to other newer ipods, and my iphone 4.

I listened to these yesterday at the Apple store. Extremely punchy bass, very peaky sound. I wasn't impressed. The beats by Dr. Dre sounded better.

the bowls were uncomfortable for me. I have the sr60 pads now (with a quarter-size hole cut) and they're fantastically comfortable. I feel no weight on my head when I wear them.

I don't know if you'll find anything better than the m50 for that... its got a great mix of bass with SQ thrown in.   That being said, the sony XB series does push out a ton of bass. Don't expect great sq, however.

I just got mine, too. Love them. Good bass. I wish the high end was a little brighter, but you can't have it all. Great companion to my open phones... as I can just throw this on when I dont wanna disturb the wife.
