    Reasonable PC Gaming Headset/Headphone+Mic Combo?

I've gone with the DT770 pro and mod mic. I bought a cheap USB card to help alleviate any electronic interference from within my pc case.   The next motherboard I get will have a good audio solution, that is for sure!

    Reasonable PC Gaming Headset/Headphone+Mic Combo?

I have the 240 mk ii and it is a great sounding headphone for music if you want a flat sound. For games it is very comfortable, but a semi open design, basically open IMO. It does lack bass as well. I really do like the value proposition of the cloud. Lots of accessories and having a good mic...

    Reasonable PC Gaming Headset/Headphone+Mic Combo?

I have the M50X and I like what you are saying. They aren't the most comfortable though. The DT770s should be more comfortable, and I am a fan of velour.

    Reasonable PC Gaming Headset/Headphone+Mic Combo?

This is the closed back version of that headphone, new release. Looks like they are winners paired with the modmic. The Hyper X Cloud 2 looks like the best gaming headset out now though. But I will get more use out of the 598 Cs.

Bump for DT770 Pro as another option. Any thoughts?

    Reasonable PC Gaming Headset/Headphone+Mic Combo?

My trusty steelseries is biting the dust, having issues with reliability after a solid 2-3 years. I already have a modmic, but none of the headphones I currently own are very good for my needs while gaming (too "open" or uncomfortable for longer sessions). I have settled on any of the...

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less

Got this little guy a few days ago. Amazing sound for its size. Really helped vs my integrated sound on both laptop and desktop. Even better than a $100+ sound blaster z sound card imo.

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less

Thanks. I'll go K1, not gonna use this with my phone.

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less

Is the Q1 the way to go over the k1 overall?

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less

K1 or Q1, that is the question.   I really just want something that will isolate the sound outside my pc and laptop. Probably won't see much use on my phone, is there really any perceivable difference on sound between the two?

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player

I'd be apt for this if I didn't have to buy my whole library again. And if it were true. I understand people want to hear more of their music, but this thing is a ripoff. Its the way so much of music is mastered and produced aka. the loudness war that has ruined music quality, not the file type.

    Beyerdynamic dt770 (32 ohm) vs Shure SRH840

I play arma and use a headset for it..often there is so much noise it becomes impossible to pick out where some things are happening. I own the AKG K240 mkii set for semi-open use for all sorts of music. Great sound at a very good price too. I am thinking of getting some 840s of my own for...

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

Maybe the 840s or something else. I did find the 440s uncomfortable now that I think about it.

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

Trying out my AKG 240 mk ii's today and WOW. Sound is responsive in all ranges. Smooth, clear bass. Excellent treble response and a crisp high range, but it isn't super full of bright sound, which I think some may or may not like. That said, I can actually listen to many of my favorite Miles...

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

I have heard there is no difference. If anything, the build quality has improved as far as I know.

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

I tried on the AKG K240s in store (same as the Mk ii) and I can say I will be getting them. They were way more comfortable than the SRH 440 and sounded clearer as well. I did love the isolation of the 440s, but with a proper amp, the AKG will do just as well at a comfortable listening volume.

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

You don't NEED an amp for that level of ohm, but it will help to fill in the sound more at a higher volume and apparently it provides less strain on your portable player's internal amp.

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

At 55ohm, you could benefit from an amp or dac sound card. That's what I am using, a Creative Soundblaster Z (can run up to 600 ohm).   I thank you for your review, as I have newbie ears and have only listened to bose noise cancelling qc2 phones that I have. They are too bass heavy. I believe...

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

Its almost like I want both sets.   Since you have the 440s, can you comment on the closed-ness of them in terms of sound isolation. Do you think that affects the soundstage and directionality of the sound? Those are my only concerns with that headphone. Is it as bass heavy as the ATH M50...

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

Wasn't able to get the K550s. I think that they probably would have been uncomfortable to use long term anyhow. I wear glasses and I have heard it is difficult to achieve a proper seal on them.   That aside, I'll still take additional recommendations.   I am back to the SRH440 and AKG 240...

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

Thanks for the K550 idea. I think if I can snag one being sold now on ebay by Harmon Kardon themselves as a refurb, I will enjoy it.   Otherwise, I will try to have a listen at a guitar center or something. I hope they have the Shure 440/840 in stock or something similar.

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440

I am looking for my first real set of headphones, and I am asking them to do a lot, so hear me out.   I need something that is semi-isolating, but can be a tad open (hence the K 240). I sometimes listen in noisy environments for short-er periods, but I don't care much about sound leakage to...
