Ha, depends on how much you are willing to spend.    I think there is a big step up in tone and depth in the HE-500 but you have to be able to afford the £300 more. I personally think it is worth.   If anyone is interested I recently tested the whole range and blogged about them.  ...

I've been using these for around a month now, I don't find the bass overpowering at all, it is just right for me. Mid-range is great, the treble can be a little tinny at times. My main qualm with them is they tend to fall out of my ears, but that could my ears fault rather than the IEM's fault.

I was very impressed by these headphones. Recently demo'd some, really wasn't expecting them to be as good as they are.

  Ha, maybe work on your lettering though 

I tried a pair of these at the National Audio Show here in England, they sounded great. Such clear and precise imagery.
