Had some HE400i for about 2.5 years, just got Sundara. Worth every penny. They're so much tighter and better defined that the HE400i which I now realise is a little on the soft side. Imaging and seperation are definitely better although soundstage is about the same. This is just what my ears...

I can confirm that the flat brainwavz pads are also detrimental to the sound. However ATH MSR7 pads fit and to me the sound is just as good. There may be slight differences but they're minor. I'm pretty sure they're the closest you'll get.
