Most compact way to go from USB -> (mini)TOSLink?
Did a bit of research into the surface2. I believe it's still running WindowsRT, which might not work with the Micro II. Unless there is some type of work around. But the Micro II doesn't need any drivers to work on normal computers, it's simply plug and play.- qazico

Turtle Beach makes a nice and inexpensive option. I have the Audio Advantage Micro II. It works with both my USB2 and USB3 ports.- qazico

Pocket-size amp to go with LCD-2, $300 budget - is there such a thing?
The ALO Mk3-B is pretty compact for the amount of power it puts out. You can probably find one in the classifieds for around 350-400.- qazico

LCD-2 for portable use? Am I crazy?
You can seal them but it changes the sound dramatically. If i was you i would sell or trade for something that gets you what you want. I have the LCD2s (bamboo) and they sound amazing. but they leak sound in both directions.- qazico

LCD-2 for portable use? Am I crazy?
Hell what are you waiting for...buy LCDs off him before he gets smart. But in the same time it could be some kind of HiFier trap. Lure you in with a good deal then.....BAM..your cheap prostitude chained up to a bed in some projects. If I was you I'll take a friend. That way you can have someone...- qazico

So my e17 pretty much fell apart.
It sounds like the battery is about to burst. Lipo batteres usually swell and burst when something happens to them (over charge, undercharge or just a plain crapy battery). The frame is probably the only thing keeping that thing from finally bursting. I think the battery swelled up so much that...- qazico
