Did a bit of research into the surface2. I believe it's still running WindowsRT, which might not work with the Micro II. Unless there is some type of work around. But the Micro II doesn't need any drivers to work on normal computers, it's simply plug and play.

Turtle Beach makes a nice and inexpensive option. I have the Audio Advantage Micro II. It works with both my USB2 and USB3 ports.

I'm still hoping that they release the firmware that lets the AK120 play nice with USB3 computers.

I usually use the triple flange when I'm on long flights. I tend use the star tips otherwise.

You can seal them but it changes the sound dramatically. If i was you i would sell or trade for something that gets you what you want. I have the LCD2s (bamboo) and they sound amazing. but they leak sound in both directions.
