Help with ~$200 earphones?
The Yamaha pair was the one that stood out the most to me. Know if the place where they are $90 USD would ship to Canada? I might consider it at a price point like that. I also didn't know that the successor was to be released soon so I will do some looking into that and see if maybe they fit my...- Phestezeo

Help with ~$200 earphones?
Hello everyone, I am in the market for a pair of ~$200 CAD earphones for school, commuting, and general at home listening. So far, out of what I have looked at, the ones that have stood out to me the most are the Yamaha EPH-100, Dunu DN-1000, and Bowers and Wilkins C5 Series 2. The music I...- Phestezeo

How to connect speakers, sub, amp and DAC together for my desktop
Well, I have a very silly question to ask. What cables would I use to connect all of them together with? I was thinking I could use a 3.5mm to RCA and run that into the back of the subwoofer and the speakers but I don't know if that would work. Never done this before, nor had to use any cables...- Phestezeo

How to connect speakers, sub, amp and DAC together for my desktop
Hey everyone, I'm working on a newer setup for myself for my desktop computer and am wondering how I would go about connecting all of this. I have only ever had a basic 2.1 setup before in the past so I have never had to do any additional purchasing of cables, or anything of the like before...- Phestezeo

Speakers recommendation for desktop
I'll look into passive speakers and see what I can find. And the JBL LSR305 look pretty good. Can find them for a good price here in Canada. I'll add it into the list of considerations.Thanks. I saw a few people comparing the AE 5+ and the BX5 D2 earlier this morning while I was looking... -
Speakers recommendation for desktop
Some recommendations I've found online are the M-Audio BX5 D2, KRK Rokit 6 G3 and the Audio Engine 2+/5+. Anyone know if these are worth their weight in cash? Any other ideas for speakers? -
Speakers recommendation for desktop
Hey guys, So I'm looking for a set of speakers for my desktop. There main function would be for gaming and music but it doesn't need to have any sort of features that cater specifically to gaming, as long as it produces sound that lets me hear and enjoy the audio of the game then I'm fine. I...- Phestezeo

Help, advice and/or discussion regarding amp/DAC vs. AVR
An interesting item. It seems from what I have now found, the people who were talking about having receivers at their desks were also using their PC's for home theater and media center setups. Since I won't be doing that it looks like that a receiver won't be doing me any good as my plans won't...- Phestezeo

Help, advice and/or discussion regarding amp/DAC vs. AVR
Let's start this off by saying that I am not entirely educated in the whole audio scene. Keep this in mind in case I make any mistakes or basic misunderstandings. Anyway, I am hoping to rework my PC, mostly internal components to my build as well as speakers, (most likely going to keep my 2.1...- Phestezeo

Philips Fidelio X1 assistance and experience discussion
That is excellent, I'll look for them to see if I can get a better idea of how the pads are attached and if I would be able to replace them. Too bad I'm no handy man, it might be easier if I was. Thanks for letting me know.- Phestezeo

Philips Fidelio X1 assistance and experience discussion
It's unfortunate to hear about the ear pads, but I guess I can just be even more careful with them to ensure they last as long as they can. And thanks a million for the different cable suggestions, I'll be sure to look into all of them to find the right one for me. And I'm glad to hear...- Phestezeo

Philips Fidelio X1 assistance and experience discussion
Hello all, So I am planning on getting my self a pair of Philips Fidelio X1's for use on my computer, however, I was wondering if I could get a few things cleared up beforehand. I have, briefly, heard them and loved the sound so I figured it's high time I got myself a pair but I have some...- Phestezeo

Is it possible to have two sound cards functioning in a single PC?
I just have a question that popped into my mind today. Is it possible to have to sound cards in your PC? They don't have to be able to function at the same time, I don't see that being possible and working well, but could you have two different sounds cards from two different companies and...- Phestezeo

Looking for an player that will fit my needs.
Glad to hear support for the Sansa Clip+, it seems like a really good player from a good company so they've earned it. It is rather unfortunate that the maximum included space is 8GB, but I figure a 64GB micro SDXC will alleviate that for a while. Hopefully the Clip+ will last me until the...- Phestezeo

Looking for an player that will fit my needs.
I've read that the 160GB iPod Classic is pretty good, I guess I will keep that on my watch list as well. It's too bad that the FiiO X3 is still a little ways away, was kind of hoping for a DAP rather soon-ish. Perhaps I can get a different one to keep me for a little while and then be sported as...- Phestezeo

Hmm, didn't know the FiiO X3 was going to release around now. I noticed in that thread that it said that the release date for north America is in June, so I figure I will have to import it from Mainland China to get it here? If so, is it confirmed that the language can be changed with any of the...- Phestezeo

Hey all, been lurking this site for a while now, but have just finally got around to creating an account.
