Apple AirPods Max
Much appreciate this. I often overdo EQ adjustments. This one looks too subtle at first but proves out nicely after an extended listen. Thank you. Yes, one adjustment for the mac and iOS systems would be great - haven't found that yet either!- bikefixe

Hello big: I'd be interested in a screenshot or eq table of where you wound up. Suspect I'd find it a useful starting point for my own listening with these headphones...- bikefixe

Radsone EarStudio ES100
Anyone have thoughts on the sound pressure decibel level output readout in EarStudio on iOS? If I set things so I’ve got 85db output, seems impossibly quiet. I’ve got the right impedance etc settings for my earbuds, iPhone volume all the way up etc. either the app is inaccurate or my hearing is...- bikefixe

Janos Starker, 1924-2013
A sadness! Such strong clear playing on his Bach Suites discs, you can hear his fingers impacting the fingerboard at times, and for me still the standard for these pieces. And his recording of the Kodaly solo Sonata... -
Music ripped from CD with iTunes vs Music purchased on iTunes (Quality)
I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that VBR = variable bit rate, and that if you rip at 256 VBR, 256 is the max bitrate, and for sections of lower complexity in the music, the actual bitrate will be lower than that max. Anyone care to confirm or educate me? -
Music ripped from CD with iTunes vs Music purchased on iTunes (Quality)
I listen to a wide variety of music. For some of it I'm not sure I could discern the difference between these file types. But at 256 AAC vs 320, I could hear a clear difference with classical works that feature solo piano. My own CD rips at 256 gave a warbling sound to extended piano tones - I... -

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
Quote: That's odd. I've been trying to EQ my RE-400s, and in my ears, the RE-400 produces a pretty strong ringing at 5.5k that has me dialing back that peak in EQ to get more even response (another near 9k). I'm new to the forums here: is this due to different ways of assessing the...- bikefixe

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
