iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade

I hear of folk buying multiple 4...5 or more adaptors - so that they can be sure that they will have one when they need one.   At $9 each (or £9 UK)... just think how much better a DAC/Amp could have been included within the phone with the money that people are spending on multiple kludgy...

Review by 'deaglecat' on item 'Sennheiser HD 598'

These are so easy to listen to for a long time.   Comfortable, not harsh.   Superb mids.   I can hear things on these headphones that I never could on my Sony MDRs.     They need amping though (and playing loud) ..or they are a bit too mild mannered.

Iphone 4S vs Ipod 2nd Gen (firewire)

Just for fun, I charged my very old (10+years)  2nd Gen Ipod (10Gb) and loaded it with music.   Which was not easy cos' it takes a firewire interface.   Plugged it into my Sennheiser HD598s (un-amped) and was quite surprised to find that the sound on this device was a fair bit more enjoyable...

    Kindle Fire HD 7" DAC

Given the emphasis on decent audio / speakers on this tablet, I am hopeful that the internals will be decent quality.   Does anybody know what is inside ? Is it better from an audio perspective than a Nexus 7 ?

Review by 'deaglecat' on item 'Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone'

I really like these... but I like good clear high frequencies.   Lots of detail in the music.   The pads rot off over time (faux leather) but you can replace them with pads meant for an alternate brand (mine are now velvet).   I would not be without them.   They have stood the...
