Ipod classic HDD to SD/CF conversion (Tarkan Akdam iFlash MKII)
Just used your suggestion on Tarkam's website. I've put together a 256GB SD iPod. Pics available on my site: http://mapplesyrup.webs.com/256-gb-ipod Crazy stuff.- tsandrew

What are the best headhones for me?
Ditto on the ears. I think it's especially important that the headphone firstly doesn't squeeze the head - so, if you listen for awhile, it starts hurting - and that it fits snugly over the ears. Some folks like a tighter fit. I personally like a more loose touch where the headrest is the thing...- tsandrew

Your favourite "not the best" headphones?
Cheap headphones that I got from the supermarket. $8.99, can't beat the price, for earbuds that you can basically take anywhere. Of course, when I'm at home I use the Denon ADH-1001 (which will probably be the not-the-best for many of you!) but that is a little difficult to carry around. Always...- tsandrew

Notebook Headphone Output Impedance
I think overall notebooks' headphone jacks are all right to drive almost anything... anything reasonable. Recently hooked up a pair of old-time boombox speakers to a newer laptop, no amp or anything. The sound card can drive those speakers to distortion.- tsandrew

Rate the video games you're currently playing
Anybody remember C&C Generals? Recently started that up again... too bad my comp couldn't handle the AMAZING graphics...yeah right lol. It keeps crashing. All the time. If it didn't crash I'd say it had pretty decent gameplay. And or course, graphics were cutting edge for 2003.- tsandrew

Headphone Shops in Tokyo? Also headphone recommendations?
Are you sure things are cheaper in Japan? Those island countries - Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, you name it - all seem to have higher prices than here in the US. I've seen something akin to 2/3 higher than US prices at times.- tsandrew

iPod Classic 7G 240GB
Plus I never had a successful case opened against me - and all of a sudden my monthly selling limits are 0ed out so I can't get paid. What the heck. I guess eBay has thousands of other sellers, they don't need my business anyway.- tsandrew

iPod Classic 7G 240GB
If anyone was looking to get a 240GB iPod off eBay, they are starting to crack down on these "non-genuine" products. I just got my account suspended for selling these hi-capacity pods. Totally ridiculous - had years of feedback, 100% positive, and plenty of folks want them.- tsandrew

Review: Modded iPod Classic 7G with 240GB HDD from eBay
The catch is, the headphone jack sits a little higher off the back plate on the thicker version, so you may need to shim it to make it stable. But functionally it will work. :)- tsandrew

iPod Classic 7G 240GB
Looks like the "thin" backplate. You'll need the "thick" backplate to accommodate the 240GB HDD. Also, I'm absolutely sure the 240GB HDD will work with the 7th Gen Logic Board, although I have heard that anything above 5.5th Gen can be upgraded to 240GB - not sure if you have to change logic...- tsandrew

iPod Classic 7G 240GB
Quote: Reason being that the 240GB MK2431GAH is thicker than the original 160GB (thin) drive that you probably have in your 7th Gen. You don't have to buy a backplate labelled 240GB necessarily, just get a backplate for the iPod Classic (thick), usually 6th Gen. Good luck with...- tsandrew

Review: Modded iPod Classic 7G with 240GB HDD from eBay
Quote: Good luck with your mod! Just a word of warning: be very careful where the battery attaches to the logic board. It's easy to damage that connector by pulling the battery too hard, and that can mean you'll have to get a new logic board. Even with my considerable experience, I am...- tsandrew

iPod Classic 7G 240GB
Quote: Also wanted to put my name out there as well. I recently started a small business specifically making 240GB 7th Gen iPod Classics from all new components. I wanted to echo what D2000 said about using real parts, running the real OS, etc. I use all new parts, and I'm able to sell...- tsandrew
