You are a skilled headphone DIY'er. I have cash. Let us help each other.
I finally put up my post about the headphones I'm chopping up, so I can get back to this. I think there is a good chance the oculus is going to be a big thing in gaming, so I though I'd post what little I looked at. There are a lot of ski goggle attachments, as has been posted already (like...- bucket indeed

SounDesign Model 338 overhaul.
So now I want to ask what sort of cans I should look for to chop up next. It would be nice to get some good ear pads along with the drivers, as well. I would like some big, roomy ear pads. The Sony XB5/700 look interesting, but I'm not sure about that kind of price for something I'm just...- bucket indeed

SounDesign Model 338 overhaul.
I'm looking for a little better headset for my pc. I have a pair of HD681's and T50rp's, but those are going in other rigs. I wanted something comfy, that would sound decent, and would cost me more time than money. I am also a bit enamored with the vintage look, so I decide to grab a new...- bucket indeed

I sorta talked myself out of that by the end of the post, lol. Does Koss source their drivers directly, because the KSC-75 driver (or variant) would probably be a good price/performance option?- bucket indeed

I was also thinking about the driver from the T50rp (ortho), or perhaps the sealed driver capsule thingy out of a Senheisser (I've only seen the HD201 myself, but it sounds like many of the cheaper Senn's have them). Then again, any on ear hp would work. It's really just a matter of making a...- bucket indeed

That last bit looks sooo sarcastic, and I can't edit it... I would actually like to know which cans you're talking about for $100.- bucket indeed

Regarding the "same from any source": learn to read, read the review and comments again and then roconsider your post. "Easy to drive = sounds quite the same from any source;" odd wording, but I think I understand what you're saying now. I'm just saying, in my experience, these headphones...- bucket indeed

Average for $100? What other cans for a Benjamin match it modded; I would like to check them out... I don't think there is any way these sound the same from any source. Amping makes a big difference, unless you just have a lot of high output sources. And the mods tend to be more than the sum...- bucket indeed

Need advice for rolling my CMOY...
I have an eBay CMOY (9v), OPA2132 and OPA2227 chips, and primarily use T50rp's (on the advice of a member here -- you ROCK, whoever it was...) When I got the CMOY, it came with the 227. Tuning the T50rp's was a bit weird; it didn't seem to respond like it was supposed to. The main issue...- bucket indeed

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!
Quote: After a $100 impulse buy, I think a $16 pair of pads (Shure 840) is a no-brainer. They improved comfort a bit, and really brought the cans to life, particularly on the low end.- bucket indeed

Quote: I just got the Shure pads today, and man, were you right! I ended up putting a little cotton in the cups, along with sealing them, and they sound great. Now we'll see if I can leave well enough alone... I don't think it can be overstated how much of a difference the pads...- bucket indeed

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!
I got my T50RP's about a week ago, and need a little advice on modding them. I've been over BMF's guide (a lot), but some of the effects of the various pieces of the mod's are hard to isolate. Now, I should mention that I don't have my Shure pads yet, so I'm not certain how that will change...- bucket indeed

We'll say less than $100, but value is important. If you have really good reason to say more, I'll listen. Crap, I forgot to mention that I'll listen mostly at my pc (xonar dg), so higher end stuff is probably wasted.- bucket indeed

New headphone suggestions please
Presently I have a pair of HD201's, and I love the amount of detail I got for my $16. Last week I tried a friends new Steelseries Siberia V2's, and was surprised about what I thought. I didn't like the relative lack of detail, but I actually enjoyed the wider soundstage (headstage?), loved the...- bucket indeed

I need some quick advice...
This will cross over into diy a bit, but I need a baseline before I make that post. My gear is pretty cheap, but I like ringing the value out of my dollars... even if it requires a soldering iron. What am I talking about? Especially if it requires a soldering iron. First, what I have...- bucket indeed
