Starving Student PCB's
There is not a grounding screw but the POT is metal so I tried to ground the entire thing. The case is also metal so I did ground it as well. The noise is much quieter but not dead quiet. It is more of an annoyance than anything... :)- dustinsterk

Has anyone every completely got rid of the hum when you touch the volume POT? It is so minor but annoys the hell out of me. I have tried to ground it directly, but without any luck. I was thinking of insulating the pot from the stainless volume knob...not sure if that will completely fix...- dustinsterk

Starving Student PCB's
There are lots of opinions of this amp from the original thread found here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/319231/millett-starving-student-hybrid-amp/6690 My 2 cents is that with the proper headphones and source (in my case a HD600's and a modi DAC from schiit audio), it sounds wonderful. Simple, low cost, HiFi network music streaming device
Just an FYI....there is a project over at logitech that really has some legs (utilizing wandboard and a custom daughter board developed by John S). Looks to be a very nice wireless streamer. ...- dustinsterk

Dsavitsk/Beezar Torpedo Build Thread
Hello all, A little off topic but does anyone have any comparisons on the Torpedo vs Bottlehead crack. I am torn what to build next but am leaning toward the Torpedo. I have not heard either but will be driving my HD600s with one of these two amps and am looking for a recommendation. ...- dustinsterk

Schiit $99 amp + HD600?
I personally have both the HD600's with the Schiit Magni amp......they sound wonderful together. Just ensure you are also using a nice source (like the modi DAC that pairs with the Magni amp). --Dustin- dustinsterk

Post pics of your builds....
Thanks! I like the colors of the Edcor's too. The setup is as follows: The power transformer is the XPWR005-120 The other two are the CXPP25-MS-8K/23% Sound great...but just take a while for Edcor to ship them out. Definitely worth the wait! For anyone else interested...- dustinsterk

THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
Total cost was < $30.00. The wooden pieces even come pre-drilled in the center with the screws included so you can easily join them together. A little work was needed to get the metal cabinet hardware on, but in all it only took about an hour total build time.- dustinsterk
