There is not a grounding screw but the POT is metal so I tried to ground the entire thing.  The case is also metal so I did ground it as well.  The noise is much quieter but not dead quiet.  It is more of an annoyance than anything...  :)

Has anyone every completely got rid of the hum when you touch the volume POT?  It is so minor but annoys the hell out of me.  I have tried to ground it directly, but without any luck.   I was thinking of insulating the pot from the stainless volume knob...not sure if that will completely fix...

Hello all, A little off topic but does anyone have any comparisons on the Torpedo vs Bottlehead crack.  I am torn what to build next but am leaning toward the Torpedo.  I have not heard either but will be driving my HD600s with one of these two amps and am looking for a recommendation.  ...

I personally have both the HD600's with the Schiit Magni amp......they sound wonderful together.  Just ensure you are also using a nice source (like the modi DAC that pairs with the Magni amp).     --Dustin

Have been listening to my 600's purchased from wje for about two weeks and I absolutely love them!    Running them with the Magni/Modi stack and also a custom built "starving student" tube hybrid amp.

Thanks!  I like the colors of the Edcor's too.  The setup is as follows:     The power transformer is the XPWR005-120 The other two are the CXPP25-MS-8K/23%   Sound great...but just take a while for Edcor to ship them out.  Definitely worth the wait!   For anyone else interested...

Stained and polyurethane.    

Total cost was < $30.00.  The wooden pieces even come pre-drilled in the center with the screws included so you can easily join them together.    A little work was needed to get the metal cabinet hardware on, but in all it only took about an hour total build time.

I have turned lots of pieces in the past...but I cheated on this one and purchased all of these pieces from Home Depot.  

This thread inspired me!  Here is a stand I put together for my soon to be HD 600's.  I still am going to stain it, I think a dark cherry....               --Dustin
