I just managed to pull mine off and mine was splined... maybe they used different potentiometers on different revisions or batches, who knows :)   EDIT: Ok so done a little bit of research and if you have a splined knob (which is more likely than a D-shaped one, and also munky said it was...

Hi Joe,  Not had chance to pull mine off yet, but can you recall what type of shaft it was? Was it a D-shaped shaft or was it splined?

I will definitely have a look into it... I know there's a US online store called potentiometer.com or something like that and they allow you to customize sizes and stuff :)

Has anyone pulled the volume knob off at all? How does it come off? Just thinking of replacing it with something with a bit of texture rather than it being smoother than my dad's head

Yeah if I tap the tubes then I get the same noise... Guessing that this shouldn't happen? I'm pretty sure that my amp is set to low gain, but should I try switching it anyway?  It won't damage my headphones will it?

Hey guys, I get a hell of a lot of microphonics from my headphone cable... is this normal? I'm using Grado Sr125i's, and maybe about half the length of cable gives me a lot of 'dinging' noises if i knock it or even touch it.   Is this anything to do with gain? If it was set for the higher...

Agreed. Partially liberated gives a false idea... basically all it is, is separation of the driver (still within the sleeve) and the shell/cup. Which is what most of us would call 'opening-up' the cans.

I see your point! However I guess i'm a little ocd when it comes to the screws... they're supposed to be flush with the rest of the chassis, and for me, they MUST be flush :P lol   Good idea!

Guys, i'd like your opinions please...   I have an absolutely raging urge to mod/buy cans at the minute... however as i'm at uni my funds are tight and my mum is watching what I buy like a hawk! I was thinking I could do things that she couldn't see... got a headband on the way that she won't...

Are there differences in cup size between the RS1i and RS2i? And how would you guys compare the sound to the SR series? I have 125i's and I like how bright they are... are the RS brighter? Punchier bass? And i'm guessing the mids would be as lovely as ever...   I know this has been mentioned...
