It's all about preference! I've had both and driven them both properly and I prefer he6 because it's a lot more musical than the hd800. But soundstage wise, no way is he6 going to beat the hd800.

Hey guys, I'm trying to rebuild my portable rig.  I already have a killer DAP that has amazing dac(dual wolfson) but a horrible amp so I got the national. Any suggestions for iems that synergizes really well with it? Cheers!

I actually have both. And i just AB'ed it. My dt880 are modded to dual entry 4pin xlr so it might not be completely fair.  From my own experience, the 4r are EXTREMELY easy to drive, so they sound pretty good out of almost anything. The dt880 however actually needs proper amping. So what I'm...

I totally agree with you. i've heard hd800 and he6 and i prefer the he6 over the hd800. Never heard the lcds so no comment there :D

Hmm. Midranges are very forward haha.  Well I was doing an AB with re600. I'd say w4r win in most besides the soundstage. It's a lot wider and more natural seeming. But that's just to my ears.

Ehh....I think the best way to put it is....It's a w4s dac2 + schiit ragnarok. I think I made a typo there...was on my phone. I meant btl outputs LOL.

It's a dac/amp combo on the down low. Chinese made. Not many in total were made. It's just...musical bliss :D If you want I can pm you the info :D BUT it has otl outputs in the back and I can easily drive my floorstanding speakers with them.

I just got mine yesterday. Yes it was sibilant a bit on my dap, but when i plugged it into m desktop combo it sounded holy crap amazing and no sibilance at ALL. But I will use it mainly with my dap so that burn in period is gonna take some time. I just want to ask WHAT ARE SOME REALLY GOOD...

Chinese dac/amp called KKmaster (originally made for akg k1000). If you know the owner he can mod it specifically for dt880!

what sharp highs? I don't know them...do you? Actually I've had really bad sharp high problems with my hd800 previously, and dt880 somewhat i guess?. I just changed the dac/amp and it became MUSICAL BLISS
