  Get the HM5 pads! They are so comfortable. But I didn't really notice better isolation:/ Also, get some dynamat and start modding. My CAL2s are fully modded with dynamat, and they sound so much better than stock. No exaggerated wobbly bass

Just received my HM5 pads!   They fit perfectly. The bass tightened up, and eliminated the bloat that was there before. They are big, so much more comfortable.    Also, I think the soundstage widened a bit, since the pads are deeper.   Overall, a must have mod for 17$

Anyone tried Dynamat on these?

I Just received the cable 30 minutes ago. Pretty fast from Hong Kong to Europe actually...in a few days :)   Well, the cable is SO much better than the stock cable. No more distortion due to built-in volume control. The 2.5mm end on the headphone fits perfectly! Finally the CAL2 feels solid...

  The Fiio cable is expensive IMO. Don't know if it will make that much of a difference on a not-so-audiophile-headphone. :/

The flimsy cable is already dead!:( Now I have to buy a replacement cable. Knew that thin cable wouldn't last long. I'll just go with a generic 2.5mm-3.5mm cable

What about Jmoney pads? They seems to be thicker and deeper. Will they fit? Or maybe denon 5000 and 7000 pads?

Haven't heard the Sony MDR-1R, but the price is almost 2x the CAL2...well at least here in Europe.

Anyone tried other pads on this? Deeper pad may extend the soundstage, so I'm interested, but don't know which ones will fit?

Have you tried modding? Add some foam in the cups. It cleared up the bass for me. Much tighter now

Ok, update on mod!   I've applied even more foam on the side of the cups. It tightened up the bass even more! No more boomy, sloppy bass! Nice and controlled. Here's a picture so you can see;  

Anyone know a good alternative to Dynamat? It's really expensive here in Europe. I've used some foam in the cups, but need some Dynamat type material for the drivers.
