    Looking for Open, Over-ear. <$150

Quote: I came here to see what's better than the AD700.    I like my Denon D2000 OK, but I've just had more time with the Audio-Technicas and I guess they've just had more time to break in.  Their bass isn't so bad anymore.   Really wish somebody around me had the AD900, some...

So, I broke my Ultrasone 2500s....

Ethics? It's only in Ultrasone's best interest that my headphones remain functional for advertising purposes. Sheesh. My cans need a bail out, man!! Well, I guess I'll have to give this idea a go on Monday. Thanks, guys!

So, I broke my Ultrasone 2500s....

Who would I contact? I remember around the time I bought these, Ultrasone of America was being shut down. Do I need to contact Ultrasone directly then? And do you guys think it makes a difference if these are B-stock 'phones? Anybody done this before? If they do charge me, got an idea of how...

So, I broke my Ultrasone 2500s....

by sitting on them!! The thing snapped right underneath the hinge. I was just thinking to myself about how I needed to sell these things a week or so ago. Anyway... what do you guys recommend (besides being more careful)?? A splint and some Krazy glue? Sell 'em here to a good (read...

    What happened to Xin?

The greatest advertisement ever (word of mouth) led me to believe Xin made the greatest amps in the world, and in searching for more information on him... I found Head-Fi.org ... Anyway... Xin just emailed me asking for updated credit card information since the one I gave him quite a bit more...

    FIOS is AMAZING

How much do you FiOS people pay for that amazing innertet?? I'd love to have HD channels and all other multimedia & communication "tubes" fed to me thru one pipe, but I dunno if it'd really be worth it. It's pretty hard for me to notice the difference between dial-up and broadband since I use...

WiFi/Internet Radio streaming on portable device?

I'd rather have a touchscreen than have functionality to play games. I'm looking for an internet device... so I'd like to click links directly. I'd like Flash to work in sites. I pretty much want some kinda Linux device. HTC has a Windows Mobile phone or two, like the Advantage that are supposed...

WiFi/Internet Radio streaming on portable device?

I dunno how I stumbled on this thread... I think I was searching for radioparadise.com to find other cool streaming radios. Anyway, nice thread... 'cause I'm looking for something similar to the Nokia n810. Are there any other suggestions? Best thing I've found is the Gigabyte m582, but...

Recommended closed headphones for gaming, movies, music.

Considering your price range... there are two correct answers: Denon D5000 & a customized Darth Beyer. I'd get the D5000, tho. I love my D2000 to death... dunno how I ever did without it. The D5000 is a bit better, tho. G'luck!

Recommend sub-$150 closed headphone for office listening

If you're going for portability/durability since it's for your office, I'd go with the V6. If you're going for pure sound, I'd splurge and get the D2000. There are other cheaper Denons, I'd be looking into if the price limit is set in stone.

    My first Proline2500 impression.

FWIW, I still think my 2500s have a recessed midrange, and I don't really expect this to change that much. I knew that getting into this... I was looking for some rockin' headphones!!

can you recommend me some closed headphones?

For no amp.... Sony MDR-V6. It's the only product by Sony I'll ever recommend, because it's the only one of theirs that will last. And it'll last forever. It was the original studio can, and lots of studios still use the V6 because of its detailed sound.

Any other headphones I should try?

So long as the AD2000 does have more bass impact, the OP prolly would be best suited with that can. But he should also be looking out for the D5000 and Darth Beyer. As of right now, my premiere cans are: AD700, D2000, PROline 2500. I'd really like to add: MS-1, AD2000, D5000, Darth...

Any other headphones I should try?

Just to clarify... Yes, punchy bass in an open can does exist... it's the Ultrasone 2500. However, I'm looking for a can that has a more open soundstage with the emphasis on mids... similar to the Audio Technica AD open series, but also with bass impact. An open can with large soundstage &...
