SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
I did look at it briefly but in all honesty having an all-in-one doesn't quite suit me. I don't have a particular reason, just don't want such a big phone.- Colhd

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
Thanks Whitigir. I was reasonably sure this was the case but I suppose I was hoping for more. I am a little curious why Sony, Cowon, Lotoo etc don't allow this type of functionality. It would allow them to design a DAP with a simple interface when playing back music from the internal...- Colhd

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
As someone who is about to purchase a new DAP I am looking for a little advice / confirmation. Is it possible to use a smartphone to output USB OTG to the WM1a? Or is there any other way to enable Tidal playback through the WM1a? I suspect this is not possible but just looking for a little...- Colhd

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
+ 1. I almost wish that Chord were not already looking at a module which can act as a source for the Mojo; the newly announced LG G5 android 'phone looks to be a gift to DAC manufacturers who are looking for a UI, storage and streaming front end. But I am still very interested in what...- Colhd

Chord already have the 2Qute desktop DAC at £995 (Hugo is £1400 and Mojo £399 here in the UK so kind of splits the difference). I don't think it has a headphone output but I believe the DAC stage is lifted from the Hugo. Add an amp of your choice and you have what you are looking for...- Colhd

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
I was aware that you had them from your posts in the SigDJ thread. Good to know it is a combination that works well, unlike your experience with the LCD-XC, but at least you have a few other wonderful headphones you can team up with the Mojo. Mojo is now unpacked and charging, ready for...- Colhd

Comparisons: 36 of the Top Closed/Portable Headphones Around
The biggest downside to the t51p, to my mind anyway, is that they are not big, expansive sounding headphones. In my experience most closed headphones have this problem to a greater or lesser degree, although an old pair of Ultrasone ProLine 750 here are definitely "bigger" sounding. Because of...- Colhd

My recent music has been Alt-J, The XX, Elbow, Fiona Apple, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Beth Orton, Gomez, Ben Howard, Faithless, Bon Iver. I am no expert in RnB and Hip Hop but do listen to a little EDM. I suspect they would be decent because I think they are pretty good all round...- Colhd

Ultrasone Signature DJ
So I have just paid for a pair of Sig DJ, hopefully they will arrive by the end of next week. Portability and isolation are important to me and the only alternatives I could come up with were the Sig Pro and the Oppo PM-3. Should find out soon if I have made the right choice. Thanks to...- Colhd

Comparisons: 36 of the Top Closed/Portable Headphones Around
I found the t51p to be very, very comfortable, more than many circumaural headphones but I have not tried the Sony for any significant time. The clamp on the t51p is not strong (but just enough so they don't fall off when you move your head), the headband is well shaped so it distributes the...- Colhd

Audeze SINE Series
Interesting headphones. I was looking at the Oppo PM-3 when i came across these. The website states they have transducers that are 80 x 70mm whereas the Oppo PM-3 has 55mm diameter transducers. The SINE doesn't look big enough to hold such a large transducer but it will be interesting to...- Colhd

I am considering one of the above DAPs. They all cost about the same in the UK so no real difference there. Is it a case of choose the feature set that fits me best or does one sound better than the other? My only history with DAPs is Apple and I am trying to avoid amps and DACs if I can...- Colhd

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
It wasn't the delay that angered me as like you I kind of expected a delay. It was the fact that Sony UK could not be bothered to communicate with me about it. It might sound a little petty but I refuse to do business with a company who treat their customers like this if I can possibly avoid...- Colhd

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
I placed a pre-order with Sony UK for the Z7 way back on 4 Sep, the website stating that delivery would be 9 - 10 Oct. I checked the website this morning and it still says that the expected delivery date for my order is 9 - 10 Oct although for a new order it says "temporarily out of stock" ...- Colhd
