If I had ordered a B-Stock unit I wouldn't have been surprised by the blemishes and big scratch, but this was a regular A-Stock order and everything should have been brand new except for the analog boards which include the used DAC chips.

After more burn in, the bass has showed up in a big way, from top to bottom. Now has the expected V-shape FR.

They look awesome.  Soundstage is good for a closed back.

Yes, out of the box.  With burn-in it has transitioned away from mid-bassy to a more balanced sound.  Sounds quite nice, somewhat similar to the old Denon D7000. Anticipating a bit more sub bass with more burn in.

Out of the box it was bass light. After 12 hours of burn in, the bass has filled out some, but the sub-bass still needs more oomph.

The 717 + 007mk1 was good but there was no Wow! Factor, but definitely better than the 007T. However, a 6S4A modified 007T sounds better than the 717, a bit more lifelike and better depth to the soundstage..
