Does anyone have any suggestions for the foam that goes behind the passive radiators? From the images it looks like a rather porous foam.   Also, the foam is a buffer for the driver rings to pivot into and not for acoustical properties, correct?

Does an upgrade from Mad Dog to Alpha Dog still include new pads (since the pads stretch too much to be reused)?   I recall reading this here a while back but there's just too many posts to sift through now and Dan's website doesn't mention anything about it on the upgrade page.

Yeah, there would be little stopping someone from taking Alpha cups/drivers and sticking them on a Prime headband and reselling them as primes. At that point they'd look identical, and the con artist would still have their Primes and a wad of cash.

I'd like more details on the Mani. What values for cart loading? I assume 47k Ohms for one but what's the other or is it variable? There are very few affordable phono pres that offer variable cart loading, so that would be rather cool.

PTom, you're in an O2+ODAC thread. Take the vitriol elsewhere.   None of us care that you felt a $1000+ amp sounded better than our $65 amp. For $65 I think we can all agree it sounds really damn good.

All due respect, but I highly doubt it makes a difference whether it's plated or not. I mean the connections are joined with lead an tin within the amp and the cables/connectors are made with gold plating over some other metal, the headphone jack is nickel plated. Best not to get involved in...

That's what I'm using.   ODAC, Crack, and the DT880s.   They're a good combo. Get some inexpensive mellow tubes and you're in business.

Maybe they need a $500+ amp to sound good, Bill-P.
