Ok, thanks for the help. I also posted this on reddit and someone replied that you should never plug headphones directly into a DAC and should always have an amp after the DAC. Is this true or will my headphones still work, albeit maybe sound a little quieter, plugged straight into the DAC?

You could look at the Denon AH-D2000's. They are closed and have pretty good bass.

I personally like the look of the HD598's.   They probably aren't really her style, but you never know.

I've never heard them, but in a few minutes there will be posts saying Bose are overpriced. Generally they aren't liked around here.
