    Klipsch X10/X10i vs X11i

In January I finally bit the bullet and bought x11i.  I would have to say that the packaging was very impressive.  I almost didn't want to take them out of the packaging.  It looked like a display in a museum.  At first I wasn't all that impressed with the "improved" build quality.  They seemed...

    Klipsch X10/X10i vs X11i

Just for an update I read a review and they have flat cables. I might have to give them a try.

    Klipsch X10/X10i vs X11i

Sound quality becomes pointless when the cables aren't able to transmit audio to the driver. They sound amazing, I love the way they sound but I shouldn't have a $20 pair of sonys that are 5 years old and are in better shape than something that costs 20x more. Their durability is lacking.

    Astell & Kern AKR01

Here is more "marketing speak" for you from amazon.com, that suggests a different sound signature.  I can see why he would think they would sound different, since it says its "specifically tuned for the Astell&Kern AK100 & Ak120", and then goes on to say "The AKR01 is based on Final Audio Design...

    Klipsch X10/X10i vs X11i

I always thought the controller added more weight to the cable and put more strain strain reliefs. Granted the controller isn't really very heavy but the strain reliefs aren't exactly heavy duty either. I just can't believe that they just changed the color of the housings and called it the x11...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

My biggest problem is their customer service.  I had a pair of SE530s and 3 months into having it I found a metal tube in my shure carrying case.  I thought maybe it was something that might have fell in the case and didn't think anything of it.  I did notice that there was a difference in highs...

    Klipsch X10/X10i vs X11i

I personally have not compared them, but from looking at the specs on klipsch's website it uses the same " Full Range KG 926" as the x10, and the cables look the same also.  Quite honestly it just looks like the dropped the copper coloring to the housings lol.  They should have called the Lou...

    Klipch x10's or Klisch x7?

Respectfully I will have to disagree with the claims of low amounts of bass. The x10 has a huge amount of base if you have the right earpieces.  I've had these things for over a year and just found that out a few weeks ago.  I started using the monster Gel tips and the bass awesome.  Honestly...

Thinking about buying some headphones/soundcard/amp, advice?

I agree.and the website says it can handle headphones up to 300 ohms but that's starting to be come the "dynamic contrast ratio" for headphone amps.

Thinking about buying some headphones/soundcard/amp, advice?

Very true I never heard the essence STX so I can't fairly comment on which I think is the better card.  I am wondering if my D2x was defective since it had that noise going through my head phones and speakers but also I have heard complaints about the same thing on the Phoebus.  Thats also a...

Thinking about buying some headphones/soundcard/amp, advice?

For five years I had the asus xonar d2x and just recently upgraded to the Creative and I have to say that the improvement was phenomenal.  Even after 3 months and the diminished placebo effect wore off it still seems like going from mono to stereo.  It has a built in amp that has enough power to...

Will a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD power Q701? PLEASE HELP

Actually the headphone out on the xfi titanium pro is 300 ohms according to creative's website.  You shouldn't need an amp to get the most out of your headphones.

    Girlfriend is looking for headphones

I would suggest the V-Moda Crossfade m100's, they sound perfect for what you are looking for..  They have a lot of bass and are built like a tank.  Also they are very customizable so she can make them "look pretty". Innerfidelity has an excellent review on them...

    Need help choosing between Klipsch Mode M40, B&W P5, AKG K490NC & K495NC, and Sennheiser PXC 450

Sorry it took so long to reply I'm never on here.  The P5's soundstage is compressed compared to the akg k550.  The k550 have more natural high end and the isolation is better.  The P5's treble sounds artificial and didn't have nearly the instrument separation that the akg k550's have.  On the...

Ultrasone Pro 2900 vs Sennheiser HD-650

Is there something you don't like about your Ultrasones? I own the ultrasone pro 900 and love them.  They have really good bass and have good detail.   I haven't got a chance to listen to the 2900 but they are open and from what I here they the bass is more refined and the sound stage is...

    Need help choosing between Klipsch Mode M40, B&W P5, AKG K490NC & K495NC, and Sennheiser PXC 450

I have the akg k550 and I will have to say that they are great. They are very neutral and have crisp highs, detailed midrange, and very controlled tight base. They are my second favorites behind my HiFiman he500. My biggest issue is that they don't have replacible cables. I do a lot of portable...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

don't blame you that is crazy expensive for a headphone cable.  Thats like half a pair of new pair of good headphones.  I don't know why they are so expensive.

    AKG K550 or Bose?

I have to agree with you on that one.  They do a very good job keeping sound out especially when listening to music.  They do leak a little bit of sound, but not enough to make my wife nag at me.

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I love them.  Probably the most I'm going to spend on a pair of headphones.  I just hope that the cables and the micro coax holds better than I think its going to.  It reminds me of the antenna on a Sirius satellite radio which had to be replaced constantly.  The actual build of them are...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I payed to have my he-500s shipped overnight on a tuesday morning and on friday they finally decide to ship them out and on monday I finally got them.  When I first opened my HE-500's my cable was broke right where the strain reliefs were.  I called Audio direct the same day and was told to send...

    AKG K550 or Bose?

If you are looking for good noise canceling I heard the klipsch mode 40 is pretty good, and will probably sound much better than bose.  I haven't heard them personally as I opted with the akg k550 and am very happy to do so.  one thing to remember though is sound isolation is going to always be...

    AKG K550 gaming and movies

I have these for gaming and I'll have to say that they are awesome if you want to hear everything.  They are very transparent and the base is seems maybe a little recessed but the sound stage and directional sound ques from it are amazing.  The sound signature is very close to my hifiman he...

    Help me choose! (B&W P5, Klipsch x10i)

Wow none answered you in almost 9 months lol.  Though I'm sure you made your decision right now, I'll try to answer your question.  As far as the Klipsch image x10 goes I find them very comfortable.  They are great because I can just pack them in their little leather box and take them where ever...
