Sound quality becomes pointless when the cables aren't able to transmit audio to the driver. They sound amazing, I love the way they sound but I shouldn't have a $20 pair of sonys that are 5 years old and are in better shape than something that costs 20x more. Their durability is lacking.

Actually the headphone out on the xfi titanium pro is 300 ohms according to creative's website.  You shouldn't need an amp to get the most out of your headphones.  

I would suggest the V-Moda Crossfade m100's, they sound perfect for what you are looking for..  They have a lot of bass and are built like a tank.  Also they are very customizable so she can make them "look pretty". Innerfidelity has an excellent review on them...

I have to agree with you on that one.  They do a very good job keeping sound out especially when listening to music.  They do leak a little bit of sound, but not enough to make my wife nag at me.
