Do you guys know if one can use the G6 on a PC without installing the software? Just using the side buttons to change between direct mode and SBX? My plan was to use direct mode on non game stuff and then when using it with a game turn on SBX via the side button.

Dekoni told me the 3m rings is an alternative to the 4 pin system. I presume they work fine without them, when I'll get them I will try just using the 4 pins.

I think the new date is for a new batch, if you check the price you will see it got raised and the states only 3 out of 100 claimed. If you read the comments page a developer said that the ETA for the 1st batch is March 2019.

Does the Steeleries GameDAC (standalone) supports mic in? From the pictures it seems it only accepts a proprietary connector on the side and it states on their website that the package comes with a 3.5mm adapter, doesnt says anything about mic input.

What about the 2nd generation Beyerdynamic MMX300? Even tough they're closed, most of the reviews state that those are some of the best headset around (they're one of the most expensive as well) and have a nice mic as well.

I think a read a post of someone saying the hiss was worse with the planars, thats why I asked that. So everyone is getting the background hiss? Or it's very headphone dependent ?

So planars are a no go with the Play? What kind of headphones would have less background hiss? Some sort of dynamic ones with 250 or 600ohm? I've tried the AKG K702 65th Anniversary vs the Fidelio X2 and the AKG ones seemed to have way less background hiss.

I'm using the NE5532 X 3, NE5543 X 2 one. Its outside of the PC with the bundled power adapter.
