Grado Fan Club!
I just bought the Grado sr60i's to try out the grado sound, and I think i've finally found the sound for me, I think grado will be my upgrade path, I was getting so sick of recessed mids, this is so refreshing :) I will enjoy modding and eventually upgrading to a higher Grado model :) ...- AmbientRevolut

Next step up overall from Audio Technica ATH M50's?
I wish people would stop talking about headphones they have not heard, the only reason certain opinions get spread is because people who haven't heard a headphone will read 1 review and preach it like fact. Please remember this is a subjective field, and you should only have the right to state...- AmbientRevolut

ATH-M50 and my other headphone experiences. [Mini-Review]
I've been round the block and back again. I just felt like doing a mini review and almost nostalgia session. As you can see in my Sig I have tried a decent amount of mid-fi headphones. I recently sold my k701's (my latest headphones) and did a downgrade because I was curious about the Audio...- AmbientRevolut

Audio Technica ATH-M30 vs ATH-M50?
Whoever is trying to sell you the m50 for $190 is ridiculous, you can get them for 110-150 fairly easily. Also the general consensus is yes.- AmbientRevolut

Should I buy a grado? (upgradeitis kicking in full notch) + REVIEW of my experiences in mid-fi
ArmAndHammer, I saw you owned both the 325i's and the k701's, can you give me a comparison of the sound, which you prefer, and with what genres? If possible. Thanks, :) -AR- AmbientRevolut

Should I buy a grado? (upgradeitis kicking in full notch) + REVIEW of my experiences in mid-fi
Yeah i was definitely looking at the little dot lineup, do any of you guys have any experience with any of my headphones as i am unable to demo any of these pairs, I would love to hear a direct comparison of how grado's (especially sr225i, RS2i, and RS1i) sound in comparison. Thanks, -AR- AmbientRevolut

Should I buy a grado? (upgradeitis kicking in full notch) + REVIEW of my experiences in mid-fi
You are right, right now the only amp I am using is a nuforce icon mobile, however right now I am headphoneless, What sort of amp/dac recommendations do you have, also thank you very much for the information I am considering it carefully. Any more info would be great, I want to get a well...- AmbientRevolut

Should I buy a grado? (upgradeitis kicking in full notch) + REVIEW of my experiences in mid-fi
Well it's that time of year again guys, I've been through many great headphones, MD2000's, HD650's, AKG K 701, AKG K 242 HD, M2's, ue700. From each experience I have learned more about my own musical tastes and sound preferences, I have also experienced what each of these has to offer. I...- AmbientRevolut

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
For me, (I can't speak for anyone else) but this hobby isn't about revealing every little fault in music such that 99% of my library becomes unlistanable. There are songs that I absolutely love, that perhaps are poorly recorded or just sound to harsh on other headphones. Those are sibilant on my...- AmbientRevolut

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I hear a lot about how dark the hd650's are etc. And I hear the term neutral tossed around often when comparing to other headphones (akg k 701). But let me ask you, when you say SSSSSSSSSSSSSSStuff, there is no grating sibilance no matter how loud you say it, I couldn't care less if your...- AmbientRevolut

Review: HD650 (From a previous d2000 and md2000 owner)
That was one of the many albums I tested it with yes, I do plan on getting a desktop amp and dac to test further, but as I said I am skeptical and will tread my upgrade path very carefully. Blind tests for me are very important, I consider myself to have well trained, young ears, when I get a...- AmbientRevolut

Review: HD650 (From a previous d2000 and md2000 owner)
Yea I agree, natural not neutral. Sibilance doesn't exist in real life, and therefore should not be reproduced, also bass may be tight and non reverberating on a neutral headphone, but that is not what bass does in real life. -A R- AmbientRevolut

Review: HD650 (From a previous d2000 and md2000 owner)
Hi all, I recently traded my Markl Modded d2000's for a pair of hd650's this is going to be my comparison between the two (I will not compare to gear I have not owned) A couple disclaimers, i am a skeptic by nature and have tried to separate myself from the large amount of auto suggestion...- AmbientRevolut

Testing audiophile claims and myths
Since it hasn't been mentioned in response to a previous comment. There ability for someone at all, anyone to pass a comprehensive blind test between 128kbps and lossless is sufficient evidence to prove there is a difference (not only has 1 passed it, but many, some may fail but that doesn't...- AmbientRevolut

Nuforce uDac for my Denon AHD 2000s?
The uDac is really good. The denons (i've had mine for 1.5 years) are really good they do need a few hundred hours to really warm up though. I found them very harsh at first, but after a while they really mellowed out and sound very musical. Burn them 24/7 to your favorite music or whatever. ...- AmbientRevolut

$400 to spend on Headphones/Amp
I think it's not worth it to dump $500 on an amp for a $300 headphone. Headphones should be your first priority, you can get some great amp/dac combos for around 200-300 that will drive any headphone on the market. What I would recommend is demo all the low end sound sigs. Listen to some...- AmbientRevolut
