Are you listening to them without using a DAC? I have a iFi ZEN DAC V2, makes all those listenable. Cyprus Hill Black Sunday, brilliant. Without the DAC, it's pretty flat I agree.

I'm using balanced pads but i'm finding them a bit uncomfortable after an hour or so, they press my ears to much (big head). What's the remedy? pull the band apart? different pads? thanks in advance

On the ifi website for those firmwares, it says in the release notes that the firmware with GTO filter will not change colour: Release Notes – 7.3c – GTO Filter / MQA / DSD256 (Sub-version): "All PCM LED colours will be the same colour due to GTO filter"

When you originally asked the question, where you basing off those two links to the youtube or from the Deezer recording? Or are you saying that you get the issues on both Deezer and Youtube?

This! They're so beautiful sounding. I'm using the ifi ZEN DAC V2, it's just amazing, almost emotional in how these headphones sound. I moved from Fidelio X1's a few weeks back. I'm not finding the sibilance some people find in the highs but i'm 47 so probably my ears. The bass is so impactful...

do they alter the sound too much? i saw that graph that removes that dip in the highs and smooths the 8.6khz band.

Had my cans for a few days, no burn in and stock B pads. maybe my age (47) but i'm not finding the highs to high. I like the sound with my iFi Zen Dac V2 and trubass on, however my ears are pressed against the inside of the phones which is going to be a problem after a few hours of wearing them.

thanks, i read that you'd said that in a previous comment. i only got my cans yesterday so it's early days before i think about whether i'm going to change the default sound. I've come from a nearly 10 year old set of Fidelo X1's (the pads had started to come apart and they werent replaceable)...

I looked at these as well. I'm using the ifi DAC V2 to drive my 1990's. do you find that it's still clean bass? I love EDM and rock, which i know benefit from heavier sub bass etc, but the ifi DAC with TruBass switched on, it's amazing!

does the echo+ have memory wire for the ears? i have a set of sony MDR-EX1000 which wrap over the ears, should i get a balanced version for my Oppo HA-2SE, which would it be?

I've got and ha2-se myself, however when a call comes in and i have it plugged into my iphone 6s, i cant hear anyone.

  Jury is still out on that issue for me. i'll be listening most of the day, at work. That being said, i dont recall when it last happened.

  yes it is better, because the signal coming from the 3.5inch has already been converted to an analogue signal.     The idea of using the oppo is to have a straight through digital signal (of the music) and have the oppo convert to analogue using it's high quality electronic components...

yeah it still happens. not sure if its as frequent or less so yet.   saying that, it's happened twice now in the last 20mins.

i'll tell you as soon as there's a drop out or i get to the end of the day and there's no drop out.

this is definitely a different issue.  This is what i sent to Oppo:   Oppo confirmed that they'd had another report of the same thing (on an iPhone 6 (mines's a 6s)).

yeah i also have the same issue. i've sent oppo an email as well.
