    JVC RX700 back in stock!

@Olimoronio All the reviews here that say otherwise? You mean yourself and like... 2 others? Good luck with that man. Sure they *might* sound nice, but their quality is downright awful. Go troll somewhere else with your quadruple(lol)posts. Learn to edit. ;)

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

So that they can fall apart a week and a half later? No thank you. I'm glad these are back in stock, perhaps I can finally purchase a pair. @Katun: The thread's title should be updated. :)

2.0 Speakers Compilation: Best for <$500

Are these really smaller than the AV40s? I find that hard to believe.   They do look quite interesting, however. I'd like to try them out.    Quote:

    M-Audio AV 40 $80 good deal?

Definitely.   Arguably, these are the BEST 2.0 speakers under $150.   I jumped on this deal as well. Unfortunately, it has expired.

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote:   I think I  convinced myself too, haha.   I decided upon a pair of Panasonic RP-HTX7s in white, for $27 shipped from Amazon. I like the retro design, the SQ is on par with the HD201/202 (perhaps slightly better), and they're more portable due to a shorter cord with an...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote:   Your suggestion helped much more than you know! Thank you nobleacuff.    I'm really liking the idea of the HD202s. Not because I think they'd be comparable to either the JVCs or the Shures, and not because I think they'd be a good fit in terms of diversity of function...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

@Landis: That's an interesting observation about the fit of the Shures. Apparently these are available in most, if not all, Apple stores--so if I do decide to buy them, I can try them out there first.

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote: Haha, well I found my Bx5as to be pretty breathtaking myself! We shall see though.   Btw--just curious--what were your first pair of headphones?

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

@GreenStreak: I'm not a huge fan of the ATH-M50s for a number of reasons, so I'm not considering them.   @SimH: How do you think the 750s compare to the 840s? I don't really need DJ headphones, and I prefer the look of the 840s, but if I could find the 750s for significantly cheaper than...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

@classakg: I'd love to audition both, but there really isn't any place nearby area to do so--I live in the suburbs of NYC, in NJ. I could always venture into the city for a day, though...   @1Time: The RX900s are "sort of" closed. I've heard that they don't leak very much, but I haven't had...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote: 'Semi-portable.' Reason being that I would mainly use them inside, in my dorm, and I refuse to buy a second pair for use outside. I wouldn't want to use portable cans indoors, which is where I'll be using these 80% of the time.    And you're right. For a first set of cans...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Ah, cool, thanks. xD   I must say, I myself wasn't a huge fan of the 80i's when I auditioned them. I hated the pads--but, hey, they're Grados.

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Quote: Yeah one of the things I really like about the Shures is how great they sound unamped (according to the many reviews I've read). I imagine the extra $65 is definitely worthwhile... hmm...   Quote: It would just be occasional portable use, and because I don't want to...

My First Cans: RX900 or SRH840

Hi everyone.   I've spent the last week or so looking for a set of cans to bring to college this fall.    I've never really been a "headphone guy," as I much prefer listening to speakers (I have a pair of M-Audio Bx5as that I enjoy very much, and plan to take with me to college)...

Shootout: 114 Portable Headphones Reviewed (Xiaomi Mi Headphones added 04/21/2015)

Very good review. An enjoyable read through. I especially like your impressions of the HTX7s, I've heard some very good things about them but reviews are few and far between.    Perhaps you may be interested in reviewing Audio-Technica's SQ5s. You can get them on sale for $60 at Audiocubes...

The BEST full sized headphones for $30 USD or less (updated Nov. 27 2013)?

I find it interesting that OP jumped on the Maxells just because of one man's opinion. A convincing man, I'll admit, but just one man--and one that doesn't take kindly to accusations and finds it hard to backup his claims. Despite the hundreds, if not thousands of satisfied users of the JVCs and...

    JVC RX900: Sound Leakage?

    JVC RX900: Sound Leakage?

Also, would the RX900s be suitable for use on an airplane? With passengers on either side of you?

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

Hm, I think it's decided then.   I kinda ruled out the A700s, seeing as this purchase will be my first real set of cans (I much prefer speakers) and I fear that I may not take full advantage of them--at least not enough to drop $100. I can always upgrade later.    I guess the cable isn't...

    JVC RX700 back in stock!

Haha yeah, I asked an Amazon sales rep about whether that "1-2 months" was a mistake and was told that they would, in fact, take 1-2 months to ship. She said I'd receive them between August 24th and September 24th. What an amazing deal! /sarcasm So now I'm pretty dead set on the RX900s. The...
