Beefy headphone amp with balanced inputs, new design?

So here's what I've got for the power supply. I decided to make it a separate board since it could be useful for a lot of projects. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or criticisms.   All of the diodes are 1N400x Schottky type The regulators are 78xx, 79xx I'm planning on using 1000uF...

Beefy headphone amp with balanced inputs, new design?

The dual half-wave setup is exactly what I was looking for! Just built one up today to test and it's much cleaner than the DC wall wart supply. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, guys!

Beefy headphone amp with balanced inputs, new design?

Thanks for your feedback. The application is not a typical one--the amp will be used to amplify monitor feeds for musicians in a recording studio. As such, power, headroom, affordability, and portability are the main design goals. The balanced input is necessary because the amps will often be...

Beefy headphone amp with balanced inputs, new design?

Thanks for taking a look at it, Dingo. So I need to lower the value of the "rail splitters" correct?

Beefy headphone amp with balanced inputs, new design?

To the extent that there can be anything "new" about patching together well-worn circuit elements in a different way, I believe this design is "new."   Like the cmoy, it uses a passive ground splitter. Like the 02, it uses opamps in parallel to double output power. And like nothing else...

    CMOY with dual power supply

Yes, I am going directly from the power supply to the op amps.

    CMOY with dual power supply

I am building two CMOYs in the same box, and I had a +/-15v dual supply lying around so I tried hooking it up.  I ran the positive and negative wires to their respective places on the opamps and the output from the center terminal to ground.  If I have only one opamp insterted, it works great...

    Cmoy volume control mod--seeking advice

Great!  Thanks a lot for the response.  Wasn't aware of the impedance issues.  Is that due to using the linear pot?

    Cmoy volume control mod--seeking advice

Not much of a "mod," really.   Since I could only find linear, dual-gang, 10k pots here in Korea, I am planning using the "better volume control" mod from ESP.  Basically, put a resistor going to ground after the pot to make the linear curve more logarithmic.  I am using a 1.5k resistor.  ...

    PSU for 4x Cmoys

Nevermind, just found my answer: "even the crummiest little wall wart can supply 100 mA, whereas your CMoy amp shouldn’t ever draw more than about 20 mA." -Tangent

    PSU for 4x Cmoys

Tamu, thanks for the quick, informative responses!  It seems like the wallwort would be the easiest way to go.  It would also have the advantage of getting the power transformer out of the audio chassis.  Do you think 1a is enough current for four cymos?   Stew, the device will be to send 4...

    PSU for 4x Cmoys

Hi, I want to build a box with four headphone amps, each with their own independent inputs. The cmoy looks good, but I would rather have one main power supply than four 9v batteries. Any ideas on the best way to do this? Just to clarify, I do not want a distribution amp. Rather, I want basically...
