Trying to justify getting these even though I already have HE-400 s. I will decide before sleepingg.

So I saw the Massdrop HD 6XX deal and I am tempted to get them. Any point of getting them if I already have the HE-400 headphones? Or better to save up and get into the next tier of headphones?   I'm tempted since the HD600 was my second option when getting the HE-400s. Was a difficult choice...

Finally got a new cable. Couldn't afford to get the OEM one so I got one for $30 from amazon. It looks super thin, but the connectors are solid and its not 10 feet long haha

I ended up just using a piece of black tape on the bottom of the pads.   Just got the Lohb headband. The velpads + the headband has made such a big difference. So much more comfortable now.

Anyone have a problem with their pads spinning around in the cups? I got the velpads and they are so much more comfortable. but they don't stay in place. Wouldn't have been a big deal if these weren't angled. 

  I can totally reccommend the 7506s. I had the older MDR-V6s which are supposed to be the same headphone and they were amazingly accurate.There is a reason they are still so widely used today after 31 years!

  The same thing happens when I tried to aggressively EQ using foobar even after upgrading to the SMSL 793ii. If you switched to these from a closed headphone, you might just be expecting too much bass. These have great bass for open headphones, but even my old Sony MDR-V6s closed headphones...

Maybe try turning Foobar to max and then using the E10 volume to adjust to a comfortable sound level. My old E10 had no problem driving them.

Do those actually provide any cushioning? They look pretty thin. Maybe I can get the foam supports and put that over them.

So I got my pair a couple days ago and I have a question: Where should the headphones be placed over my ears? Should my ear be in the middle or toward the back of the headphones? Its makes a pretty big difference moving them around my ears.

  I hope the stock pads work OK for me, because there is no way I can justify spending $110 on earpads.   If I don't like the stock ones, I think I will try the focus pads which are much cheaper. 

Thank you for the info! I was thinking of getting a new DAC + amp in the future, so if I find that the E10 is not working well with the HE-400s, I might get them a bit earlier.
