80-ohms might be okay, but will sound a bit muted. So I wouldn't see the 250 version as an option. Keep in mind these are really big cans, so good at work, mobile not so good. They are in my top three in comfort, so these do sound like what you want sonically and comfort, but be sure they fit...

I can only speak on the 80ohm version. Fantastic with an amp, great for techno, etc. They sound great, but $230 is much higher than what I paid for mine. These cans go up and down on price, so if you don't mind waiting you can get them cheaper (check the used forum).   I use contact lenses...

Kill The Noise, MisterX HPDAC>DT-770.

I agree with the dt-770 recommendations. Very comfortable, great sound, awesome bass. But they sound better amped. Not truly necessary (my phone gets solid sound), but a consideration.

DT-770. I needed a pair of bassy cans and they really rattle my skull at times. Plus they sound nice beyond the bass.

If you can get them at a good price then it's a good investment. Beats are overpriced and if you have that kind of money to spend you can do better. What is your price range?

In terms of comfort, the Beyers are tops. I've owned a lot of headphones and they are the most comfortable cans by a good bit. Sennheiser doesn't skimp on a good feel , but go with a pair of Beyers if you want comfort and sound.

It all come down to how often you will use headphones. I know a lot of people that only use speakers because they like to feel bass. I am at a 50/50 mix myself. I tell people it's like buying a nice big screen TV. If you watch a lot of TV it's a smart move, but don't waste the money if you don't...

For text books, Amazon usually sells them through a 3rd party. Now I went to college in 00-04, but my bill 'then' was for the individual 3rd party companies. Unless they changed it, that's what I would expect.

When you do your checkout, it should display the individual transactions in terms of what you are buying, and when you will receive your books. But, this might not matter. If Amazon is the seller, it's one transaction. If you are buying from a 3rd party seller, this will in fact be multiple...

With the silver in the middle they kinda look like Beats. But Ultrasone also has a similar silver design.   Either way, I hope he's not a member, and doubt he is.      

Here in VA snow happens on occasion, but how bad it is is 50/50. Light snow, life goes on. Moderate+ (for VA), everything shuts down. I like it for the day off but I hate how everything closes like it's the second coming.

Headphones offer an intimate sounds that scales well in price over high end speakers. So yes, I hear it and no one else does and that will always be the flaw in head-fi. But I appreciate it and in the end that's all that matters.

I usually use headphones when I'm out and about. Walking somewhere, taking the bus. I'm not a huge home listener, though there are times when I feel like rocking out and don't want to disturb the roommates.
