How would you fix this split/fraying cable?

Cutting these was the last thing I wanted to do.... I'm gonna see how long this tape/shrink tube rig lasts. When one channel starts cutting out, i'll take some scissors to this mother

How would you fix this split/fraying cable?

so I went to radio shack and bought the assorted sizes of shrink tubing   The shape of the plug on these friggen things is impossible. The tubing is either too big or too small..... If its big enough to slip over the curve on the plug of the HF2's, the shrunk diameter is too large for the...

What size heatshrink do you think I should be getting? I'm gonna order it online, its way too expensive at radio shack

How would you fix this split/fraying cable?

I don't even know how to even begin reterminating these things..   You think just shrink tubing will suffice? The tears didn't make it into the joint, just right where it starts

How would you fix this split/fraying cable?

My HF2's are splitting right at the point where it connects with the jack.... How would you guys treat this, to slow down the damage? Shrink tubing? Electrical tape?   How would you guys be tackling this, if it were your IEMs?   Thanks guys!!

    ATH-M50 Removable Cable Mod

Did anyone send theirs to the Sound Professionals that the dude earlier was advertising for? Reviews? Worth 40? I'm nervous as hell....   Oh, what are you guys using to secure the chassis inside of the cup? Hot Glue? Silicon?   Hows that looking.... cosmetically? Anyone got any closeups?

    ATH-M50 relief spring

lol @ the sir...   I'm telling you. I read everything there was, and I just couldn't do it. I like to think I'm somewhat good at following directions.... I was trying for like 2 hours, and it wouldn't go. I tried to screw it in clockwise while holding my fingernail there as a guide- it would...

    ATH-M50 relief spring

So like many others on here, I pulled out the spring by accident. I read the threads, and even watched the video on how to get it back in... I must be the dumbest person ever,  because I could NOT get it back in. So i got frustrated and destroyed the spring...   What would be my next...

2nd Gen Ipod touch (broken headphone jack) - LOD only solution?

Well, Apple would be the last place I'd go for a repair, because they are a supreme ripoff, I'm better off buying a new ipod than doing that....   I came across this thing too: http://www.srslabs.com/store/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=43   Its smaller, I'd say the perfect size...

2nd Gen Ipod touch (broken headphone jack) - LOD only solution?

So now the left channel for Ipod Touch will intermittently go out. This is the 2nd time, my 2nd Ipod. I do not want to brick another ipod! ...I gave my mom the first one.... she only EVER listens to music in one ear.... she's paranoid and likes to hear her surroundings on the train :P. Doubt...

    Ety HF2s Keep breaking

How do you store them when not in use? Do you all actually use that carrying case? OR do you gently wrap it around whatever you're carrying, say an ipod?

    Ety HF2s Keep breaking

This is the third pair that I've had that one ear just stops working. It has only been like 2 weeks since I had them replaced by ETY. Good thing they honor their warranty, but the combined shipping to and from could have bought me something useful.... Anyone else have this trouble? I don't even...

Would shure cover warrenty of something off ebay?

I guess they don't want to fix stolen goods or whatever, they want us buying it from their distributors, who when they make more sales, buy more from Shure directly

Would shure cover warrenty of something off ebay?

Say you got it as a gift, no receipt. Worked for me with Etymotic Research, but I think their customer service is second to none. I even got to name when it was "purchased" for me, as I had it for a long time, and bought it used, and they didn't even second guess it. So now I have 2 extra years...

    Foam Tips reduces cord noise?

Thats what I've noticed on my Etymotic HF2s. Switching to Shure olives seems to make the cord noise that I experienced with the flanges, and the regular foam tips that came w/ them disappear. Tapping it hard still makes noise, but the rubbing against the zipper of my sweater when I walk which...

Best isolation - IEM or headphones?

I have hf2's and I can't hear a damn thing outside... one question, all other things being different, aren't the type of tips what determines the isolation? Not the manufacturer of the IEM? ETY tr flanges on a shure should have the same isolation measure... no?

tried that already...and it didnt work. Didn't seem to make sense to me anyway.. Doesn't cold cause the tips to contract, making it tighter?

I can't, my olives are stuck all the way down, and I feel like if I force them off I'll break the stem... so I'm leaving until time to replace them, and going to cross that bridge when I get there

Best isolation - IEM or headphones?

Isolation in the tips when it comes to IEMs. A good fit should block out more noise than active noise cancellation. And since you're traveling, I'm sure the portability of it is a plus as well.
