    Omaha Head-Fi Meet #3 - October 29th @ CE

I might be there not sure as I might have a new job in KC. If I make it I will be bringing some my Mark L Denons and some Schiit to drive them. :D. Failing that I might have to loan them to Neirika for the event.

    Busted Denon 5K headphones

So I ran into a problem with my Denon 5Ks. The screw that goes from the driver to the headband broke. Is there any way to fix this without using rubber bands or tape? I'll also try to upload some pics of the damage as well.

I might be able to make it. If not I'll try to get a extended lunch and head out there with the Denons in tow.

MARANTZ - SA-KI PEARL SACD - CD PLAYER as a headphone amp?

Do any of the Marantz receivers have built in headphone amps? Or is this only on their CD players?

How To Build One Of The World's Finest Dynamic Headphones (markl Denon AH-D5000 Mods)

Quick question regarding the markL mod. Should I allow some break in time for the newly modded cans?

Just about to Pull the Trigger on DENNON AHD2000

For the OP something you might want to consider is the burn in time. The Denons will require a ton of burn in (from what I have seen here 250 - 300 hrs) for their sound to hit their full potential. The good news is that with that burn in some of the bassiness does go away. If your still not...

Good headphones for a serious noob

Not to sound like a irrational fanboy but for about 28 dollars more you could get the Denon AH-D2000s. They are also a good phone to learn how to mod as the MarkL mod is fairly straight forward and cheap to do DIY as long as you follow the instructions and use the templates.   Oh and here's...

    MarkL Mod template question

Cool, So I guess I'm going to have to hit Kinkos and mess with the template a bit.   For right now however I'm going to hold off on performing the mod. The headphones seem fairly new and I want to put about 300 hrs on them to see (or should I say hear) how they turn out.

    MarkL Mod template question

I have been looking into going the MkarkL mod DIY to save some cash on my AH-D5000s. I managed to find a great thread that had a template for the AH-D-20000 however when I printed this off and compared it to my D5000s it did not t seem to mach up right.. Is there a template out there for the...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

Hi fairly long time D&M products user (own a Marantz Receiver) but new D5000 owner. So far I'm loving the 5000s and have taken them everywhere with me (I have used them at work, and use them when I'm working on my notebook at a Starbucks). However I really can't wait to do the the Markl mod this...

Closed cans: There must be something in between the DT770 & D5000

You could be able to do the Markl mod for the Denons. The mod itself does not look to complicated and pretty cheap to do by yourself.

Just took the plunge into higher end headphones.

Quote: Not too sure on that I'm going to say about 200 dollars.   It's really too bad there is no place in Omaha where I can't audition certain headphone amps to see which one works best for my ears.

Just took the plunge into higher end headphones.

Quote:     Good point. However from the little I understand using a receiver might not be the best way to power a set of headphones. I also heard that headphone jacks on most receivers are not that well built and will break with usage (not sure how true this is). However if this is a...

Just took the plunge into higher end headphones.

I had a chance to spend a bit more time with the Denons today. So far I noticed the bass that the reviewers here were talking about. Luckily for me it's not that bad. Or at least it wasn't what I was expecting which was bass that would be found in a pair of Beats headphones. I also noticed they...

Just took the plunge into higher end headphones.

OK so the Denons arrived on the mail and so far I'm impressed and I'm only running these puppies out of a headphone jack. Can't wait to get the other stuff.   I will say for what I got them for they are proving to be a hell of a deal.

B&W P5 Headphones: An Unboxing of the Bowers & Wilkins P5 Headphones

Quote: I'll agree to that. When I had the P5s it wasn't like I hated every single minute with them. I thought they were pretty good when I was working on my laptop. I can also see to an extent on why B&W wants to put a little more cash into build quality as they do want to capture the...

Quote: RIght now my only source is an iPod touch. I didn't plan out this whole headphone thing as well as I did for my 2 channel stereo setup.   Quote: Yeah pretty absurd I know. :)   Nope not model planes or RC cars :D.       Oh thanks for the help so far guys...

Just took the plunge into higher end headphones.

I mean higher end as I have seen what some of the high end on here costs. And at this point in time I'm not to wild about taking that plunge. But I did take the plunge yesterday when I managed to snag a pair of Denon AH-D5000s off of Amazon for about $315.00. This wasn't exactly a blind purchase...
