    Mogami W2549?

I want to re cable the Ultrasone Pro 650. I like the idea of 22awg unplated copper. This cable is being describe as warm, bright (not warm), neutral and balanced, having extended highs. The last thing I want is extended highs if it means exaggerated tape hiss, glare or an unnatural treble...

Tech- hobbyist needed to fix tube amp

I did something idiotic and now would like to get my Elekit TU-882 fixed at a reasonable cost. Near San Fransisco and northern San Mateo county. It's probably replaceable from $200-300 used. Thanks, Tweaker829

Looking for generic 3.5mm plug for Ultrasone Pro 650

I found two other 3.5mm connectors that will fit Ultrasone Pros. The LN004553 and the extended connector from Plussound.

Looking for generic 3.5mm plug for Ultrasone Pro 650

I'm aware of the Oyaide and the Quables. Mien says he used a generic for the threaded connector in a 900 but cannot be messaged. Quables would never answer my email. Something a bit more robust than the Oyaide would be nice, less expensive would be nice also. There must be something someone...

Anyone mod or upgrade the Soundquest SQ-84 V2

While the coupling caps are obvious since I can't get the schematic it would be nice if someone had info on some important resistors and their corresponding numbers on the circuit board so they could be upgraded and any other easy ideas. Thanks, Tweaker

Replacement op amps for the NE5532 in the original V-dac, black box the absolutely will not oscillate

Can people weigh in on this. Ones that have been tried in the V-dac that caused no problem, didn't overheat, no problem. Only dual op amps. I'm nearly certain that the OPA2604 will work.  I'm interested in rolling a few. Someone thinks that the  LM4562 is like a magical tube amp. The OPA2111...

Looking for a very inexpensive 5670,6n3 only amp, just that tube...

So, My beloved Elekit TU-882  is making noise, probably because it crashed to the floor as a result of a nightmare. Hopefully someone can fix it but I'm not going to spend hundreds for that at this time. The only thing I see is the hybrid Quin Pu. Can I live with that or is their something else...

    Sound Quest SQ-84

Nurx, What ecf802 are you refering to as bringing it to a higher level. I'm looking to replace this 6u8 with a tube with great depth, at least good bass and lots of instrament body. Thanks Tweaker

    MHDT Havana DAC

Mink70, One way to tone down glare and brightness is to use ferrite cores on interconnect and PS wires. Another way is to use x or y type caps across the ac line. I agree with another that the WE 396a has poor dynamics. Mass violins sound perhaps the best on this tube but it is otherwise  thin...

Elekit TU-882 coupling cap needed voltage ratings??

Nikongod, I can now satisfy your curiosity. I'm being told that the input coupling caps cap be removed because of the near extreame unlikelihood of dc coming in. The second set of caps can go down from .1 to .047 mf. No more than 70 to 80 volts, so a cap 100v or more can be used. Took me awhile...

Elekit TU-882 coupling cap needed voltage ratings??

Yo nikogod, My thoughts exactly about the high voltage and the no caps vs caps. Been a long time since I worked on tube stuf. If the PS cap is discharged does that mean I'm in the clear.  I acctually dont kno the reason for coupling caps but was curious if the first input cap was "necessary". My...

Elekit TU-882 coupling cap needed voltage ratings??

I asked because I want the most flexability in choice of caps. The obbligatto aluminium foil and the Mundorph zn are on my short list , both given very good reviews and don't cost $70 each. There is 185 v coming directly from the power supply (B+? ) and 350v in other parts of the circuit. I have...

Elekit TU-882 coupling cap needed voltage ratings??

I can't tell what the voltage is from the schematic.. Ok I'll try this. Does anyone know what the (max?) voltage is across the .1 coupling caps (c1c2) and (c5c6). Would a cap that met that voltage  be enough or do you need say double it in case there is a short or something. I have not taken...

Yes I have a schematic but have not opened it up yet . I got the unit used. My question has not been answered by your reply.

Elekit TU-882 coupling cap needed voltage ratings??

Looks to me that (c1 c2) have almost zero voltage and I can't tell what the voltage across (c5 and c6) is.Can someone tell me what the lowest safe voltage ratings for these caps is. Also for your info  c14 and c13 , upgraded would have great benifit. Can someone tell me if there is a max cap...

Elekit TU-882 modifiers Are you out there??

I am a lucky owner of this fine amp and would like to link up with people familiar with it. Lots to do inside this one if one is so inclined. I would especially like to link up with  someone in the San Mateo , San Francisco area who owns one of these amps.Tweaker

Review of Elekit TU882R: Tube headphone amp

Is there any other amp in a similar price range that sounds as natural and musical , shall we say organic? ," tube-like" as the Elekit Tu-882? 'Don't particularly like the kit idea.
