    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Hey Ashade, I was finally able to do it, what I ended up having to do was cut out little holes/cutouts where the 7 tabs were. It was still hard to try and force it in, and the pads still look slightly small and stretched out over the mount. But definitely more comfortable for long term use. The...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Hey Guys, I tried to do the velour pad mod on the MDR-1R per some suggestions earlier in this thread. I purchased the Auray ones from Amazon that were for the 7506's (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GC7YJ2/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but I'm having a hard time I've taken the...

I've also just tested out a friend's AT-M50's due to a lot of suggestions on this site for this pair of cans. Maybe because it's a good pair of cans at the price, but I was a little let down by these as well. Although the bass was there, it seemed rather bland, the materials seemed cheap, the...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Quote: Note that the NC version also has DSEE as well. But you're right, they should have made the NC 'high end' version a BT+NFC version as well.

One other thing I forgot to mention, I like headphones to give me enough chin/jaw space to move around when I'm wearing it around my neck. I noticed that all of V-Moda's headphones seem to clamp together when not in use, has anyone felt that it is restricting when worn around the neck?

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

As I had stated in another thread, I've narrowed down my choices to:   Sony MDR-1NC (Black/Red) V-Moda M100 (Matte Black) Logitech UE6000 (Black/Blue)   Has anyone tried all these 3? Which has the best noise isolation? Best comfort? Best soundstage?

Quote: Well, either way, the point is I'm wanting something else.    Can anyone who has tested the Sony MDR-1 series, UE6000, and M100 (seems like I'm down to these 3) say something about long term comfort? Can you wear all three of these models for more than an hour of listening, for...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Anyone have a comparison of the MDR-1R to the MDR-1NC? Does the NC version have the option to play without NC on, and if so, do they essentially sound the same as the 1R'a at that point?

UE6000, MDR-1NC, and M100? You're in the same boat as me! Let me know how you plan to listen to these as well, since I can only test out the UE's at the Apple store. Remember, my source is not ideal either, just an iPhone or computer. In fact, it seemed like the iPhone had to be at almost Max...

I saw that the P5's now come in a really sleek ivory color that I Love. Anyone have any notes/experiences on the comparison between: B&W P5 (Ivory) Sony MDR-1NC (Black/Red) UE 6000 (Black/Blue) Vmoda M100 (Matte Black) AKG K550 (Do these come in white?) I think I've narrowed it down to these 5.

Thanks for the suggestions! I actually forgot, I've actually tested some of these suggestions in the past.    The UE6000's were really comfortable, but as I tested them side by side with the Studios (at the Apple store), I liked the Beats Studios better. They seemed to require less volume...

They look pretty cool, but I'm afraid since they are on ear instead of over ear, they may be uncomfortable for long term use. I think I'm looking for over ear closed back.

Hey Guys, as you probably know from the subject title already, I'm a newbie here. I scanned through all the forum categories, and I think this is the correct place to post this. I'm currently in the market for a new pair of headphones. Willing to spend in the $300 "range." I currently have a...
