    tough, tougher, the toughest

I don't own them but aren't the Sony MDR-V6/7506 supposed to be pretty durable? Or perhaps something like the ATH-PRO700Mk2

good, cheap, nice looking over ear headphones below $55?

Here's a comparison of the HTF600 with a couple other popular budget alternatives: http://www.head-fi.org/t/608120/the-30-budget-comparison-monoprice-8323-vs-panny-rp-htf600-vs-incipio-f38   In the budget category, I personally own the JVC RX700, JVC HAS160 flats, Sennheiser HD205, A-T...

The BEST Over-Ear headphones under $60 USD

I find the ATH-T400 to be very comfortable, but of course no headphone is universally comfortable for everyone. I think people with large heads have mentioned that the pads can start sliding up a little on the ears (from the tension of the auto adjustable headband). Unfortunately, I don't have...

The BEST Over-Ear headphones under $60 USD

The usual suspects are: Superlux hd668, hd681, Samson SR850, and other variations Panasonic RP-HTF600 JVC RX700/RX900 Creative Aurvana Live, when they go on sale on Amazon If you are a complete basshead, Sony XB500   My personal favorite is the ATH-T400, but of those I listed, I...

Recommend me some new headphones, prefer <£20 delivered.

Compared to HD201, the Maxell will have quite a bit more bass and it also has a strong peak in the upper treble (although a dip before that). This page has a frequency chart for another rebadge of the same headphone...

Maxell Retro DJ: http://uk.maxell.eu/en/products/retro-dj-black-76.aspx   Not sure where you buy them over there, but they are same headphone as the FA-004 and the Brainwavz HM3, just for a lot less. here's the thread on the FA-004...

    best headphones for CHEAP

Incipio F38. They are the same as the FA-004 and Brainwavz HM3 only a lot cheaper. Do a search and you can find a big thread about the FA-004. The Incipio are available in multiple colors for the fashionista...

Looking for a non-leaking closed headphone with a clean balanced signature under $50.

ATH-T400 is $55, but I am one of the few people to have them so you won't be able to get a consensus for them. They do isolate well and are quite comfortable. Pretty well balanced, but a little recessed in the treble, which can be compensated pretty easily with EQ...

    Lets talk about the ATs!

Quote: TAD is the open version of the T series. The numbers correspond with the closed equivalents of T200, T300, T400, T500. As of now, the T200, T300, and T400 are currently the only models of the T or TAD series to be currently distributed in the US. Certain companies (like...

What do we know about Audio Technica ATH-TAD300?

Brand new headphone not released for US sale, yet. Audiocube imports them. It is the open version of the very low end ATH-T300 (which sells for about $25-$30). Haven't listened to them, but can't imagine anyone has. I wouldn't get rid of AD700's to try them though. Here's a link for the...

Beginner audiophile set. Does this sound like a good combo?

Quote: If that is the case, the RX700 isn't any better in that regard. They may look nice in pictures, but in hand, the plastic really does look and feel chintzy. My ATH-T400s are  superior in quality and feel of the build, but may not be quite as durable. They are $55 right now, but...

    Lets talk about the ATs!

I have a low end ATH-T400, which is a tad over $50. I'd put it up against anything else in its price range or cheaper. I also have Brainwavz HM3s, JVC RX700s, and Sennheiser HD205s. The T400 is the best of the lot so AT headphones can compete in the low end segment as well.

Beginner audiophile set. Does this sound like a good combo?

Keep in mind that the RX700 are very large so not really anything you can carry with you, etc. They are nice headphones for $35. However, there are other headphones that are as good for that price range for sound quality so make sure you check out a few options before you settle on that one...

Looking for a CHEAP workout headphone.

Koss makes you pay to send them in and send a check to send them back. With cheap models like the KSc-75 it ends up being better to just buy a new set than to futz around with the warranty, which is what they want you to do. On their more expensive models its worth it, for their cheaper models...
