DiscoProJoe’s Rockbox EQ Presets, Version 5.1 (complete user guide)
@DiscoProJoe Hiya: I am wondering, if you're familiar with this project. I've tried to apply some of these EQ results to my Rockbox with little success. Have you considered offering something similar for Rockbox users? Thanks- tonKopf

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
Ah fantastic! This makes much more sense now. I also have an HD650 and I couldn't imagine how the HA-200 or any DAC for that matter would make it overly bright or super detailed to the point of harshness. Enjoy!- tonKopf

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
I've just purchased both the HE-400i and HA-200 within the last two weeks. I use Volumio as a source; Monoprice interconnects; plain USB cable (2.0); and my SMSL M8. The headphone cable has not been upgraded. The filter setting on my SMSL M8 is set to FAST. I am listening to MP3 320 and FLAC...- tonKopf

Reply to review by 'tonkopf' on item 'beyerdynamic T1 2nd Generation'
@Limu Shirin I had a chance to listen to a pair of HD800 (not the S version). I found them to be analytical and revealing; not musical. In comparison the T1 (1st gen) sounds also revealing, not analytical, but musical instead. Sound signature is pretty much as described here minus the "enhanced"...- tonKopf

Cool... much appreciated. I will add this item to my list. I'll probably eventually go for a balanced setup, if not just to satisfy my curiousity, but I think I'll take my time and look out for bargains. Cheers- tonKopf

Thanks man, I've been rather sceptical. Though your point on driving power hungry headphones is well taken. Yeah, too much hype in audio circles. It's all so audio-magical. The NuForce HA-200 was a good investment. I really like the sound!- tonKopf

I didn't notice the empty links; now corrected. It's a by-product of copy-and-paste from Lyx. DI box like a mixer? I think you mentioned that in one of your earlier posts. Larger footprint and no significant cost savings. I would rather go with the Focusrite or Steinberg. Yes, clearly all of...- tonKopf

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
No, I have nothing balanced except the amp. It's not really a money issue, if the improvement is significant; and I understand that's somewhat subjective. I've read impressions over at HeadRoom that claim a person would be “completely flabbergasted”, another one at Benchmark stating there's no...- tonKopf

I own a pair of HD650 and Beyerdynamics T1. Signal chain: Digital source > DAC (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2?) > Amps.- tonKopf

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
I've just received my (single) amp; and I am very pleased with the sound signature. Would going the balanced route really be a significant improvement over single ended? I am just trying to gauge, if the extra cost involved getting a DAC with balanced outs, interconnects and headphone cables is...- tonKopf

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
I think they both offer identical features for my purpose; and the price point is almost identical on Amazon. Both should work under Linux according to reviewers. They appear to use different DAC chip sets: Cirrus Logic 4272 chip (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2) and Cirrus Logic 4270 chip (Steinberg...- tonKopf

Thanks ... looks like the Steinberg UR22mkII or Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 might do the trick. Steinberg is a division of Yamaha. Quality wise there probably shouldn't be much of a difference between the two.- tonKopf
