As an update, I checked the output of the 24V power supply.  2V...  So that was the problem.  I swapped t oa new PS and it is operational again.  YEAH.  I have no idea why I never checked that.  I literally have 2 volt meters on my desk most of the time, and do a lot of electrical testing. 

My FUBAR II has recently died.  The blue power LED only VERY Faintly blinks about one a second.  Has anyone had this issue.  I am pretty handy at replacing electrical components, if there is something that commonly breaks.  Anyone have a Schematic for the board to better help diagnose?  ...

Mine lasted from November 2010 till now, so about 8 months.  I think the cord issue and the static issue were two separate things.  I have since gone out and purchased some Shure SE215's.  While the audio is a bit different from the Fischers, the cord is pretty hefty, so I am not as concerned...
