Pro-Ject Acryl It impressions... Not good
Yeah, I think it's more likely that I'm blowing my results out of proportion than the slight height difference of the platters is making a huge difference I feel. While certainly a massive difference for me, I do do a lot of critical listening and have owned this TT for quite some time. It's...- TheMuffinMan_01

Pro-Ject Acryl It impressions... Not good
Let's call those thoughts up there first impressions. The accordion sounding sound (synth?) in the right channel in Bjork's Hunter has convinced me that the extra definition can be beneficial. It was clear and moved silkily. Compared to the stock platter where this little delicate sound gets...- TheMuffinMan_01

Pro-Ject Acryl It impressions... Not good
So I bought the Pro-Ject Acryl It and cork mat for my non-carbon model Debut III with Ortofon 2M Red cartridge today. I decided this would be a good opportunity to do a really pure A/B where only one variable is altered to listen to what this new platter is about. Also I must admit, this was all...- TheMuffinMan_01

V6's vs. 7506's
I have to admit, this ended up being more about the pads on my v6's vs. the ones on the 7506. Maybe also the age of my headphones vs. the 7506's because I tried again and still found the 7506's to be clearer and tighter.- TheMuffinMan_01

V6's vs. 7506's
I just AB'd these two together, and for a very long time I thought they were supposed to be the exact same except for the mini plug. The 7506's are a billion times better, much more powerful defined tight bass, far less harsh and smoother, way more detailed and clear. Anyone else?- TheMuffinMan_01

today's vinyl quality?
Quote: I figured that too, but the digital to analogue conversion would be done by specialized high end equipment, and it is probably at least 24 bit 192khz source material so that's heads and tails above CD and probably any DAC that is in consumer range. This, I've hypothesized.- TheMuffinMan_01

Vinyl Problem
Any ideas why the issue would have switched channels, or also why it's more prevelant after the first track on the disk?- TheMuffinMan_01

Vinyl Problem
I just dusted off my parents old kenwood TT, got a new needle, and some sweet new vinyl to play on it. Sounds amazing, Thriller is pretty much the best thing i've heard in my hifi experience so far and I've never heard Homogenic like this before. It's going through a Pro-ject Phono Box II into...- TheMuffinMan_01

I found a Sony D-11 today
I was changing the speaker amp for the Blockbuster I work at today, when I came upon it! It was behind the amp/dvd player/vcr in a cupboard and it looked like it had been there for years without anyone knowing I got all excited and was like, OMG it's a D-11! And everyone looked at me funny and...- TheMuffinMan_01

Heed CanAmp
I just wanted to post, I just received my CanAmp today and I'm quite happy with it. It drives my K701's quite nicely, definately a step up from what I had before... I'll wait on some more burn-in for more detailed impressions. So far so good though.- TheMuffinMan_01

Ontario Meet - July 7th, 2007
Put me down as a tentative... I could bring K701's and a Heed CanAmp (possibly my CE775 if there is interest). The problem is this is the weekend before I take two full weeks off of work, so I don't know if I can take more time off... I work at Blockbuster so Saturday's are big days. I might be... -
