Would anyone be up for a can-jam this summer in Pittsburgh?    I spoke with the owner of Vintage Hi Fi of Pittsburgh. He said we can have an event there. It's cozy and beer and grilling are welcome.    If we set a date this summer and begin planning now, perhaps it'll happen.    Does...

    The ATH-AD700 Discussion Thread

I'm sorry you didn't have the same luck that I did. Mine fit perfectly now, and are flush and as you'd call it, "up" against my ears at all times.    I bent pretty hard, I was 99% sure that the bars that make up the headband were going to snap.

    The ATH-AD700 Discussion Thread

Well, I picked up a set of almost new ATH-AD700's along with a set of Sony MDR-V6's for a whopping $60.    My noggin is fairly large, as I'm 6'4" and weigh 310 lbs. I noticed that when I had them on, there was a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the ear pads and my head. I pushed them flush...

Yet another "Should I buy DT880's or K701/702's or _____'s?" thread...

Well I guess I'll just keep my questions to myself from now on.

Yet another "Should I buy DT880's or K701/702's or _____'s?" thread...

Well, I'm looking into buying myself an early college graduation / late birthday present in a month or so. I suppose now is the time to start doing my research.    Currently, I own Grado SR325is set #1667, as well as a set of SR60's. I have G, L, and S-Cush pads (big bowls, OE bowls, and...

    Koss HV/1A

The nominal impedance of these headphones is approximately 150 ohms. 151.4, to be exact.    The cones are not paper. They are high velocity transducer elements. Actually, the drivers in the HV/1 and HV/1A's are built like tanks, however they have issues with the coil leads becoming separated...

    Repair of Koss Hv-1

Quote:   You'll run into a few problems with this:  - Even if you do find diaphragms with coils attached, any attempt to do anything other than cold solder the coil leads onto the terminals will result in disintegration of the coil leads.  -You could scrounge flea markets /...

It appears that way Nick. I'd even go as far as asserting that the majority of us are math / physics / engineering / cs majors.    We're the only ones who are OCD enough to be this particular about how something sounds!

New SR325is's are on the way!

Oh I'm a Grado guy, through and through. I'm rocking out on my 225's as we speak!    My CD player has warm qualities to it. I modified it with Wolfson 192 VLC DAC's onboard. They're smooth. Real smooth.    Honestly, most of my listening is done on my turntable. It's a highly modified...
