People keep saying there glued on when actually it's the 4 pegs themselves that have glue on them ,,, they can be removed and use some goo gone to clean the pegs , some of the pegs shrink during the plastic cooling process and font fit tightly enough which is why Gibson started using glue on them

Mine has that depression also, I think it was just the glue dryingand caused some dimples at the factory

I never heard of an x2 with glued on earpads , I have an x2 and a friend at work just bought a pair and both pairs have 4 plastic pins that hold the EarPods on , very nice and easily removable
