The Bose QuietComfort 35 II Sound Great

Damn, Bose 35 ii sound great. Best low impedance headphones I heard and best for listening on the go from a phone. Better sounding than Beyerdynamic DT770 32ohm or Custom One which are 16ohm. They sound close to well powered high impedance headphones.

Does a vintage receiver cut it as a headphone amplifier?

Guys, I'm not an expert but when you open a vintage receiver there are a few more fuses inside as well.

Does a vintage receiver cut it as a headphone amplifier?

Hi Thx for this. I am skeptical though. I have a real problem now with power. When I power on my PC into the same power grid in the room I get high pitched modulated electrical noise in all audio equipment connected nearby, it's like hearing hdd working in all speakers and headphones. The...

Does a vintage receiver cut it as a headphone amplifier?

Hi guys, I just tested my newly bought Yamaha CR-1000 Receiver from 1975 side by side with Phonitor Mini and Little Dot MKII Amp. With 250ohm and 600ohm Beyerdynamic headphones. Source from Meier Corda DAC and DACMagic. Test Results:   Detail Yamaha wins, Bass Yamaha on top, Treble...

SPL PHONITOR 2 NEW HEADPHONE AMP

I don't have low impedance headphones. This amp has around 0.1ohm on output that bodes well for low impedance high sensitivity headphones.

SPL PHONITOR 2 NEW HEADPHONE AMP

I use Beyerdynamic DT990 premium 250 ohm usually. I don't think the full features of big Phonitor are worth the price difference and the bulkiness.

SPL PHONITOR 2 NEW HEADPHONE AMP

Nobody did :) I used to have Phonitor 1, now have Phonitor 2 mini, sounds the same to me. I'm happy with the small size though. take care Andy

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

So the tubes arrived. C3G do not much my Beyerdynamic DT880 headphones at all, bass is bloated and poorly controlled, Voshod perform much better, also they (c3g) don't sound much off some bassy ef95 tubes. it's my problem with beyerdynamic DT770/880/990 cans that most tubes make them sound too...

PSU for Dacmagic Plus and old Dacmagic

Hi   Some people claim there's a huge sound improvement to the Plus model with better PSU. I wonder how much of snakeoil is in that?   I have Dacmagic Plus with its original psu.  I also bought the old Dacmagic with a bulky replacement psu, I don't know if it affects sound but it produces...

Have I burnt my Dacmagic plus?

I also connected DC adaptor from Dacmagic Plus to the old Dacmagic, but it must be a lesser crime for it has survived :) Honestly, you don't hear such stories very often here, do you?

Have I burnt my Dacmagic plus?

Well thx but it's still on warranty so maybe they will fix it for free, if it's not obvious what I did.

Have I burnt my Dacmagic plus?

OK, I have a vague idea about it. So I fed Dacmagic Plus from AC adaptor and f@c%ed it up. Will they find out at the repair shop that I am a stupid ass as it's still on warranty?

Have I burnt my Dacmagic plus?

Hi I connected my maple psu 12V 3A to my Dacmagic Plus rated 12V 2A and I never heard from it again. I had used and I am still using the maple psu with my old Dacmagic (non plus) that is rated lower 12V 1.5A.  Have I burnt my DAcmagic plus with the maple psu?

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

OK, thx Just ordered a pair of c3g and 6SN7 with all adapters. I took 6SN7 vintage Sylvania nice looking black plate, chrome top, moderately priced, I doubt they affect quality really so want them to be lookers :)

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

So I think of using 6SN7s as power tubes on adapters and with them c3g as drivers on appropriate adapters as well. Could you please confirm it's sensible and no other devices are needed to make it work? I am a bit afraid that it is all overkill for headphones and those tubes are rather for...
