I have this DAC about ten months. I have it connected to my iMac and a set of Audionengine A2 speakers. I've noticed that the audio will sometimes distort when I output through the  DAC. The only way to fix it is to turn the DAC on and off. Is this normal?

Just bought this app to use with an Audioengine DAC on my Mac. Is there a way I can control the volume level of songs playing using the media keys on my Mac keyboard?   Currently I have to use the volume control know on my Audioengine Dac.

I found a pair of the Cakewalk MA-15DS at a good price. Are they good for near field listening at low volume? Will I notice a difference between these and my A2s? 

I like active speakers as they reduce the clutter on my desk. Any recommendations for an alternative to the AudioEngine speakers? I don't really need any more volume tbh.
