    pupDAC Step-by-Step Build Thread

I tried reflowing all of the through-hole components and many of the SMD stuff, too to no avail. Do op-amps ever die in one channel, and not both? I'm wondering if I need a new opamp. Could it be the stabilizing caps on the power for that side of the opamp (C26/11)? Any other ideas?

    pupDAC Step-by-Step Build Thread

Upon reflowing all the connectors, cleaning and drying, the left channel is louder and clearer, but still sounds clipped and distorted. This leads me to think that everything is working, but there's a weird/broken solder joint near the output. I will reflow all through holes and see if that helps.

    pupDAC Step-by-Step Build Thread

Hey all, I built my pupdac about a decade ago or whenever it first came out, with Tom's help. I recently moved and post move, the pupdac has lost its left channel. I obnoxiously emailed Tom for advice and realized it was probably less annoying for him to ask here. The solder points for the...

Some REALLY old cans! Safar R 2000

As I recall, one side of the magnet is painted red, and I think the magnets touch the metal plate, it's adjustable by turning the ear piece. That's all based on my recollection. I'm by no means an expert, and I haven't played with these much in years. They sound all right, very different than...

    New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp

I found that page, but couldn't figure out where I got the 15v bias. I'm using 12FK6 tubes, do I'm not sure why I biased so high. Thanks!

    New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp

Hey tomb, I'm sorry, I can't seem to find the biasing ranges. I found the ones on diy forums, but I also recall that there was a tweak of increasing the tube biasing to about 15V and the mosfets closer to 285 or 290mV. Am I making this up? I just moved and my amp seems to be biased to the values...

    Doodlebug - USB Isolator

I think there's a huge potential here that may not have been previously mentioned. This should enable powering the pupDAC using USB on the go, from a mobile device, right, without completely draining the phone immediately, and without the likely crappy power coming off the phone(/wallwart that...

    Doodlebug - USB Isolator

I'm assuming that adding an external power source will allow use with USB On the go for mobile devices. That's pretty exciting. I use my phone to listen at work, and I'd love to use my pup or grub with it.

    Starving Student PCB's

In my experience, sometimes that just happens. It may be that the pot case isn't super conductive, and grounding isn't going to work.

    The "Trident" interest thread

I think it'd be noisey, if powered by that, I was thinking purely for charging, it might allow for a smaller case.

    The "Trident" interest thread

I posted from my phone. If you put the item number in, it still works. Nevertheless, it's a company called LiteLong, here's another auction for the same basic item: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161219678869 Interestingly, if you google LiteLong, you will find that they actually have Lithium Ion...

    Starving Student PCB's

Is there a grounding screw on your pot? The Alps pots in the plastic cases have a grounding screw. Else, ground the case. Is it in a metal case?
