Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x

hmm, I do have a pair of RE-0's as well for the gym.  Not sure if I'd mind carrying an amp with me though.  $130 just seems like too much when the E11 is only $60.

Sennheiser HD 598 vs Beyerdynamic DT860 vs Audio Technica AD700

I haven't owned the 598s, but from what I've read the consensus is that the 598s are very flat with a good soundstage, however I do own the AKG Q701s which, from what I've read, are described as also being very flat and having a good soundstage, and an upgrade over the 598s.  Having both the...

Replacing AD-700. Should I get AD-700 or Westone UM2 IEM?

haha, ok, now it makes sense.  What do you need the headphones for?  You're contemplating a $100 full size open headphone and a $200 IEM.  If you just want something for home use, I'd upgrade your AD700s if you're willing to spend $200, as you'll get better sound from a full size can over an...

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x

Quote:   I was using a E07K AMP/DAC, but the DAC was causing BSODs on my laptop and was barely, if any, an improvement in sound quality.  Using it as an amp, the sound was slightly better, but I returned it yesterday though as I figured if I couldn't use the DAC, I shouldn't be paying for...

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

I purchased a E07K and returned it.  Using the E07K as a DAC with Windows drivers actually made the sound a lot worse compared to the soundcard in my HP Envy laptop.  Installing the ASIO drivers from Fiio's website made the sound slightly better over my laptop, but was causing BSODs.  So...

    Breaking In Headphones?

Just constantly play music through them for a couple days.  Listen to them when you're there and leave them playing when you're not.  You don't need to do anything special.  After like half a day you probably won't notice any difference in the  sound, but it doesn't hurt to to fully burn them in...

Sennheiser HD 598 vs Beyerdynamic DT860 vs Audio Technica AD700

You should consider the AD900X.  Only about £120 from Japan.  Or the AD1000X for £185.

    HELP ME!! (ATH-AD900X vs ATH-A900X)

Just to clarify, the AD900 is not the same as the AD900X.  The AD900X is not available in the US yet (only in Japan).   I recently purchased both the A900X and AD900X brand new (from Japan).  I received the A900X first and loved them when I got them.  They are well rounded imo.  Nice bass...

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x

For the price ($180 shipped), I'm loving the AD900X's.  Mids and highs and soundstage are all great.  The bass leaves something to be desired, but is still quite enjoyable.

Ultra flat response headphones with wide stage?

I just picked up a pair of Audio Technica AD900X's and it sounds like they may be what you are looking for.  The soundstage is great, bigger and better than the Q701s.  The mids and highs are also more forward and more detailed and very enjoyable.  The Q701s do win out in the bass department...

Replacing AD-700. Should I get AD-700 or Westone UM2 IEM?

Your post doesn't make sense... replacing AD700 for AD700..   I just picked up a pair of AD900X's from Japan for $180 shipped and they sound great.  The mids and highs and soundstage are great.  There's definitely bass, although I wish it had a tiny bit more when listening to bass heavy...

    Q701 impressions thread

I bought both the AKG Q701 and the Audio-Technica AD900X and I love them both with the Fiio E07K DAC/AMP.  The Q701 has slightly better bass extension but at the cost of a slightly smaller soundstage (Not sure on accuracy, but the AD900X soundstage sounded wider and just better) and slightly...
