Help needed for small speaker amp

OK ... this is going to be a long and strange one. I have a Benq monitor with headphone output. I wanted to drive a pair of old Logitech speakers (8 ohm, passive) but obviously it was going to need an amplifier in line. I wanted to avoid extra transformers so I wanted to power from an existing...

AK70 repair advice - Sussex, UK

I have an AK70, model PPE12 and it looks like I've managed to short the headphone socket and blown something inside. It works find and plays over bluetooth. Well outside warranty and I was wondering whether anyone had any wisdom concerning getting it repaired, places to try, places to avoid...

    Replacement for Teac AI101DA

I've got one of these units and the volume knob feels to be analogue and is jumping volume. Potentially just needs a clean, but I've contacted Teac anyway. However, I have a suspicion that the cost of maintenance will be close on, or potentially more than, the cost of a new unit. However, I'm...

    FLAC source for £70-£80

I've got 32gb cards in... now I only run with one in the top slot only. But since I bought the AK70, it hasn't been used. - I really would love to get my hands on updated firmware... I think I might drop them an e-mail at the weekend, and see what they say.

    FLAC source for £70-£80

I think he's still chewing over the new or second hand question... but the Fiio Mk 3 is a good suggestion. I do have an Xduoo X3 myself, and I'm having a real hard time with it; and there's no firmware on their web site, last time I checked. A few days ago I transferred a load of FLAC files to...

    FLAC source for £70-£80

Thanks. I'll forward that on to him. His basic choice is looking like putting some extra into his budget to get something decent, or going for something second hand.

    FLAC source for £70-£80

Hi Folks, Sorry for the silence; life is a little crazy right now... to put it mildly... but you don't want to know that ! I have a friend who has listened to my AK70 on some Senn cans, and he's decided that he wants to up his listening game but not spend a load of money in the first instance...

    Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling

OK - it's been back with me for a few days now, and I've used it every night. I'm very happy that it's working again. For those in the UK, I used ATV Fixit from Crawley to get it repaired. I'll definitely be using these guys again. http://www.atvfixit.tvrepairs.eu/

    Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling

Trying to get answers out of LittleDot themselves was difficult. I cut them some slack for the Mid Autumn festival holiday season, but the forum was slow going. Eventually, I gave up on LittleDot themselves. The end game was that the amp went to a local company for repair. Cost was £64 for...

    Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling

OK - going to start slowly delving into this. The valves themselves are OK - but there is power loss after about 30 minutes of running from cold. First suspect are the large resistors. Will probably check them out for drift, after being under heat for so long.

    Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling

I'm fairly sure that I'm having the same issue - that the valve is fine but that the 1+ is losing power on the right channel. I've posted on the official LittleDot forum, but it looks to be unmoderated right now, as there are all sorts of sales and spam posts popping up in there.

    Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling

I've got an LD 1+ and have been using it for a while, but tonight it burned through a valve (Mullard M8083) - it had been happily playing for months. So I replaced it, and I got audio for a few minutes, and then I lost the replacement valve. Now, I'm fearful of replacing that one, in case this...
